Interview with Go Fast Energy 02/02/09

 

Question 1. Who are you and what is the name of your company.


Go Fast Sports & Beverage, Co.

 

Question 2. How many people work for your company?

More than 10, less than 100!!!

Question 3. Who came up with the idea for Go fast energy drink originally? What’s the story behind it?

In 1992 Troy Widgery was on the World Class Competitive Skydiving Team, Airmoves, and the team was training for the U.S. Skydiving Championship. The team was on top of the world, with high expectations of winning the upcoming championship, when their skydiving plane crashed during a training session in California. Troy was one of a few survivors, and sixteen people died.

In 1996, and still "Going Fast", Troy continued his work with skydiving teams, and started the company "Go Fast Sports" to represent the lifestyle he and numerous sports enthusiasts live! Go Fast Sports focused on producing a line of t-shirts and accessories, and establishing dealerships around the world. For the next four years, Go Fast concentrated mainly on the skydiving market without expanding the market base.

Beginning in 2001, because of demand from consumers, Go Fast began entering into other sports-interest markets with phenomenal acceptance. These additional markets now include skiing, snowboarding, jet skiing, wakeboarding, triathlon, mountain biking, road cycling, auto racing, B.A.S.E. jumping, moto-x and many more. 


With the continued support of these consumers, and the interest of many athletes, Go Fast wanted to bring something new and exciting to their product line that would be appealing to their extreme-lifestyle enthusiasts, and would reach further into other markets as well.

An energy drink seemed to be the perfect fit, and Go Fast wanted to create a product with the best ingredients, taste and performance in the category. Thus Go Fast energy drink was created in conjunction with a team of specialists that created the perfect blend of ingredients, and Go Fast Sports & Beverage Co. grew into a new beginning.

 

Question 4. Some companies target extreme athletes, Students, Party crowd, etc... Who is your target market?

The Go Fast consumer is anyone that wants to Go Fast!  Our products cater to all ages, demographics, lifestyles and active people.  If you’re needing to complete a triathalon, or just need to get through the day, Go Fast has a product for you.

 

Question 5. Who is your products main competition? Energy drinks, Energy shots, energy pills. The big boys like RB or Monster?

Our products stand in a class all their own due to our superior and premium ingredients.  We don’t like to compare ourselves to others, as our beverages are not like other energy drinks on the market today.  According to the Academy of Taste, Go Fast Energy Drink IS the best tasting energy drink on the market today.

 

Question 6. What are your feelings on the current controversy concerning mixing energy drinks and alcohol?

People are always going to mix energy drinks with alcohol, by using Go Fast as a mixer, you get a better tasting and better quality beverage.

 

Question 7: Where is Go Fast distributed and do you plan on expanding.

Currently, Go Fast is sweeping the country.  We are constantly expanding into new markets each day – our newest markets have been Arizona and Nevada.  Once the consumer tries a Go Fast, they never go back to anything else!

 

Question 8: Are you selling your drinks internationally?

In countries around the world Go Fast is seeing constant and strong growth with expanded presence in action sports, the club scenes and sporting events.  The Go Fast lifestyle is becoming a global phenomenon.
Although based out of Denver, Colorado, the Go Fast way of life has expanded to such countries as Holland, England, Scotland, Mexico, New Zealand, Jamaica, Belgium, Canada and Hungary through the Go Fast Energy Drink, clothing line, Jet Pack performances and just the over-all passion for Going Fast!

 

Question 9. Do you drink Go fast on a regular basis yourself?

We all have an open can on our desk!  Z17 is my favorite, but we all have our own preferences.

 

Question 10: Do you feel web presence is important for an energy drink company?

In this day in age, yes a web presence in important, as more people spend the majority of their day sitting and working in front of their computers.  Currently, we are in the process of a complete overhaul of www.gofastsports.com.  Be on the lookout for our new, cutting edge website in the coming months.  We are on twitter (@gofastenergy) and we are going to release a new official facebook page in the near future as well.

 

Question 11. Tell all Energy drink junkies out there why they should use and support Go Fast. Give us your best sales pitch.
