Interview with the people behind Primer Caffeinated Breath spray. 01/24/08
I promised to interview some people in the Energy drink/product industry and here is my first one. Read the review that goes with this interview.
Question 1. Who are you and what is the name of your company. How many people work for
your company?
We are the Delhagen Brothers. Fortunately, thanks to our dedication, hard work and love for energy we have been able to keep our employees to a bare minimum...family owned all the way.
Question 2. How did you and your brother come up with the idea for a
caffeinated breath spray? Surely there is some interesting story involved.
I was on a trip to meet up with my brother in NYC. The fast pace life of New York City inspired the idea. We wanted something for the day after a night and the night after day in NYC, beyond tired and awful breath. That’s when we came up with the phrase "I am your GOD". I know it sounds harsh to some people. But let’s face it, fresh breath and lots of fun energy, rules.
Question 3. Why did you decide to go the underground route instead of going with the commercial distribution nationwide deal?
My brother and I met with several distributors and considered many offers. We took into account the company image we don't want. We then decided that becoming so commercial with a nationwide distributor does not fit our company.
Question 4. Is there really 1400mg of caffeine per bottle?
Yes, there is 1400 mg of caffeine in PRIMER. Let me tell you, this was no easy task. The formula went through lots of pre release testing, by us. It was awesome........
Question 5. Do you plan on releasing other flavors besides Arctic Blast?
Flavors!!! Isn't one good enough, haha. We may have looked into others, but the best part is holding a secret. If we ever do, well send you some first.
Question 6. Why only caffeine? Most Energy products contain a host of other ingredients.
The reason for only caffeine is, we wanted a clean energy product. Other products are like a factory dumping all there crap into the air, water, stomachs of people. When I drink an Energy drink, I always have to think what’s in this. All I want is fast energy clean breath and a nice buzz.
Question 7. Who is your products main competition? Energy drinks, Energy shots, ???
Good question. We fit somewhere between beverages and candy. At this point everyone is a competitor. If I was only in this to make money, I would film a reality show about entry barriers in to either market.
Questions 8. What is the market your looking for? Extreme sports? Night life? Office workers?
The types of markets were looking for are unusual to the energy scene. We are looking for markets of individuals. People that love cool products.
Question 9. So anyone can buy wholesale? Lets say I want to buy 1 case. How much is that going to cost me? How many bottles per case?
Another good question. Yes, this will be released in about 3 days. Check the web site in about 3 more days. There are 36 primers per case. That’s over 50,000mg of caffeine. Not quite a kilo, but still a massive amount our favorite drug caffeine. Mix this with a secret peppermint formula, its perfect.
