Question 1. Who are you and what is the name of your company?
Bill Nychay, VP Marketing and Business Development for VegasFuel Energy Drink.
Question 2. How many people work for your company?
We have 10 at our corporate offices in New Buffalo, Pa. We have satellite offices in San Diego, Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Chicago.
Question 3. How long has your company been in business?
We recently took over the brand 4 months ago and immediately began to refocus our brand. The owner of our company is a professional race car driver. VegasFuel Energy Drink was the major sponsor of our race team. After the success we all witnessed first hand at the races of how the consumer was drawn to our product, we made an offer to purchase the company.
We are now positioning our brand as an ultra premium energy drink, with focus on core events with higher end liquor brand partners. After our success with the race team being associated with Jagermeister for almost three years, we learned a lot about the beverage business. A lot of people drink JagerBombs!
So we created JagerFuel which diffuses the JagerBomb and gives it a totally new taste.
Question 4. Who came up with the idea for Vegas Fuel?
Again, there were a group of individuals that created the formula, and the name. They were in the business of creating drinks for private label. Once they fell upon this flavor, they agreed to jump in the ring and give it a go for themselves. They past the critical first 6 months of being in business then they realized this was a major undertaking to take on the big boys. They partnered with us in Feb 08 and soon after, the drink started to take off with all the exposure we were able to bring. With more exposure brings more product, POS, Dist, and Accounting of which they were not financially ready for. We took control of the company in July 08.
Question 5. How was the flavor chosen?
The flavor was chosen by the previous owners who were in the business of private labeling for others.
Question 6. Who designed the can and why was the design chosen?
The former owners wanted something clean, crisp, to the point, and non cluttered. We have had our product packaging independently studied vs. the competition and our can stuck out among the rest. There was no reason to change it. We don’t want to have to use “fluff and puff” to sell our product with catchy phrases or gimmicks. We have a great tasting drink that people love to consume; the customer is our best advertising.
Question 7. How did you decide which ingredients to put in Vegas Fuel?
The previous owners have developed hundreds of private label energy drinks for people. They have a wealth of knowledge in terms of what people like and what sells. They hit the nail on the head when it came to taste and functionality.
Question 8. When and why did you decide to release a sugar free version of Vegas Fuel?
The market demanded it. The former owners had it formulated but never produced it. That was the first thing we did after the sale of the company to us was finalized. It has doubled our current dist sales in a very short time. The women have gravitated to our product a lot more.
Question 9. Do you plan on releasing other flavors or maybe even a shot? What’s in the works?
We are working on a kicked up version of our drinks with the working title of Vegas Fuel Max. It will have the same great taste, but with more fuel, LOL
Question 10. Some companies target extreme athletes, Students, Party crowd, etc... Who is your target market?
Our target market is the 18-35 male BUT with the introduction of our new sugar free, women are fast
becoming fans of VegasFuel.
With the VegasFuel NHRA ProStock Race Team, we reach the extreme sports fanatic both in live appearances and to ESPN’s 100 million homes. We are adding to our roster of sponsored athletes all the time.
We were the title sponsor of the VegasFuel New Music Tour which featured new and upcoming bands of which we are doing again in 09.
We have some other surprises in store, stay tuned, LOL
Question 11. Who is your products main competition? Energy drinks, Energy shots, energy pills. The big boys like RB or Monster?
Well to be fair about it, the way Redbull monopolizes the market, they must be afraid of the competition. They go out and attempt to PAY to secure their deals so they keep the others out. Sounds like they are afraid of fair competition to me. I love that Monster is number one in the states now, tells me the consumer is sick of being forced to drink Redbull. We believe the consumer should be given the choice of what they want to consume.
Question 12. Seeing as how the energy drink market is growing and so many new drinks/shots seemed to be released every month what do you see happening to the market? Will it continue to grow or do you see it slowing down?
Based on every news story we see and read, the market is still growing. We are still adding accounts and the demand for the product is as strong as it’s ever been. We’re new, yes the company has been around over a year, but in the grand scheme of things we’re new. People are drawn to the new kid in town, once they try our product, 99% of the time the next question is ”Where do I buy it”.
If we do our job by getting the product into the market, it’s then our game to lose.
Question 13. What are your feelings on the current controversy concerning mixing energy drinks and alcohol?
The JagerBomb opened up a whole new avenue for revenue for the energy drink market. It comes down to common sense. Anything is excess is not good, drink responsibly.
Question 14. Where is Vegas Fuel currently distributed/sold?
We have current dist in Ca, Az, Nv where 60% of all energy drinks are sold. We recently moved into Illinois, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Mexico and Ohio. Do you plan on extending distribution to new areas?
Before the year is over we will be also adding Florida, Michigan, Texas with an International rollout to follow.
It is sold in select Shell, Marathon, Speedway, Citgo, Chevron, Valero, and BP stations. High end Restaurants, Bars, Nightclubs, and Hotels are being serviced with core events, and we are putting a lot of emphasis on our namesake, Las Vegas.
Question 15. Tell all Energy drink junkies out there why they should use and support Vegas Fuel. Give us your best sales pitch.
“It Just Tastes Better”
I can go on and give you a glitzy sales pitch but we’re very simple……try it. Our taste sells the product.
