Hard 8 50 Cal Energy shot
How can you not want to try a shot called 50 Cal especially when I comes in such a cool package. Now days with such a crowded market you really need to make a good first impression. That has been done but will the shot live up to it all?
Packaging: Start out with a 2.4 oz aluminum bottle. Then add a cap that looks like the tip of a bullet. Then go ahead and add and American flag graphic. Other than that they keep it simple with the name on the front and a flavor (Pomegranate Blueberry Warrior Blend) listed to the side. Sure it may not look exactly like a real 50 cal but it still looks good. Very nice job. Big Red Boots in his review had worried about the safety seal but it appears to have been fixed. You’re not getting that seal off in one piece now. Grade A-
Slogan: “All-Day Energy for Adults” is the company’s overall slogan and I like it. They are going for the adult market which is pretty big when it comes to shots. Grade B-
Taste: Ok so I opened this shot and got a nice pomegranate scent with no vitamin smell. The liquid inside is a dark pomegranate red color. I take a sip and I get some really sweet fruit flavor. There is some pomegranate in there and a hint of blueberry at the finish. Really is super sweet though and more of just a fruity flavor. There is no aftertaste or bitterness at all. This is one of the best tasting shots I have had lately. This could easily be a full size energy drink with this taste. Grade A-
Kick/Ingredients: I tried this shot a couple of times and it worked pretty well. It hit me at a high velocity. It only took like ten minutes which lives up to the 50 cal bullet which is known for going further faster. I had an above average buzz with a hint of jitters. This shot easily got me through the last of my work shift and also on another occasion got me up for a night on the town. I had this solid buzz for a good 4 hours with no crash. Each shot is powered by 120 mg Caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, Ginko Biloba, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, L-Carnitine , Glutamine, and a huge dose of B Vitamins. It also includes the “Warrior Blend” of antioxidants acai berry extract, goji berry extract, blueberry extract, grape seed extract, and pomegranate extract. It comes in at 8 calories, 2 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of carbs. It is sweetened with sugar, Sucralose, and Ace K. Grade B for kick/ingredients.
Web Presence: The site at Hard8beverage.com Is really just a place holder at the moment. It has a neat flash opening but no content. I’ll assume they are working on that and give them a grade of NA. They do have a Twitter but I could find no Facebook.

Ok so I am pretty impressed. While not really as strong as you might expect a 50 cal bullet to be these thing gave me a great buzz. These taste great for sure and if you don’t like the taste of some shots these might solve that for you. The packaging is top notch and fun. Really I can confidently recommend these to you. I say stock up for the Zombie Apocalypse. These will look great in your shelter and will keep you going so you don’t fall asleep and get devoured. You can buy these at King of Caffeine
