5150 semi sweet energy mix
Ok so the guys at 5150 could have just rested but instead they keep innovating. Originally they had an unsweetened 1 oz bottle of energy drink mix with 500 mg of caffeine. Now they have come out with a 4 oz jug that has 1800 mg of caffeine. The idea being you can add it to anything and turn it into an energy drink and you can control how much energy by how much you add. The jug they sent me is semisweet so that changes things some. Lets see if that is a good thing.
Packaging: Awesome is all I can say. Sure it is not fancy and flashy but it has the same street feel as the original as far as the label goes. It is a freekin mini plastic jug chock full of caffeine. It looks like something industrial or meant for putting in a motor. In this case though the motor is you. It is totally unique and will stand out well. It will catch you eye for sure. Grade A-
Slogan: “Insanely Fast, Insanely Strong” is on their web site and I like it. I think insane is a good word to associate with 5150 and it is strong and fast. Grade B
Taste: So it is meant to be mixed in something. The original 5150 was bitter by itself but it was so concentrated that you needed so little to mix that you could not taste it. This new jug is sweetened some so I will try it and see how it is in some different things. I tried it in water and it worked very well. It was kind of like sugar water with no bitterness or aftertaste. The sweetness covered the caffeine and energy ingredients well. I tried it in some Kool-aid and it worked great. I tried it in black coffee and it kicked major butt. It made it a lightly sweet coffee kind of like if you added a teaspoon of sugar to your coffee. All in all each time you mixed it in something without a strong flavor it made it sweeter with no bitterness. Grade A- for taste I think it works well as long as you want added sweetness in what ever you mix it with.
Kick/ingredients. So 1 capful(cap on the little jug) contains about 75 mg of caffeine so you can adjust it to be as strong as you want. 1 capful in a cup of coffee and I got a major kick, 2 capfuls in some Kool-aid delivered like 2 Red Bulls, 4 capfuls in a bottle of water and my hair was standing up and I was bouncing around like a poodle on crack. Each time the buzz hit hard and fast and delivered a solid 3 to 4 hours with only a minor bit of crash. So you can choose how much buzz you want really. Each oz of this stuff delivers 450 mg caffeine and some B vitamins. It has no calories and as far as I can tell no carbs or sugar(not on label). It is sweetened with Sorbitol and “Artificial sweeteners”. So a single 4 oz bottle has as much caffeine as 22 Red Bulls! Grade A+ for kick/ingredients

So once again those crazy guys at 5150 deliver. This stuff is one of my favorite caffeinated products. It is an awesome value in that you can get 3 jugs of it for like 18 bucks with free shipping(in the USA). That’s like getting 66 Red bulls for 18 bucks. You can also order some if you are in the UK or Canada but you have to pay some shipping. This mix allows you to control how much buzz you want which is very cool.
