Bull Tonik
I have tried a few Effervescent tablets in the past. It is a pretty good way to deliver an energy drink since it seems to dissolve better than a regular powder. I was happy when Bull Tonik contacted me. They are based in the UK but are hoping to soon be available in the USA. Let’s see how these are.
Packaging: I was lucky to get the new design and it is much improved. The old label was bad but this new one looks much more professional. I like the lightning like graphic and the name with the bull in the center of the letter o. Ingredients and amounts are clearly listed which is a big plus. No secret formula! The lid has silica gel in it to keep the tabs fresh and dry. The plastic tube holds 20 tablets and is very portable with a 2 year shelf life. Grade B
Slogan: “The new generation of energy drink’ is the slogan and I think it is a good one. It gets the message across that this is an energy drink and it is something different. Grade B-
Taste: So these tablets are meant to be dissolved in water or some other liquid. The tablets are about the size of a quarter so you have to break them to drop into a water bottle. I tried either 1 or 2 tablets in a standard bottle of water and it tasted similar to a Red Bull without the fizz. It was a little different in that there seemed to be more of a vanilla flavoring to it. It smelled pretty good and was very drinkable with no bitterness or aftertaste. It was less gummy than your typical classic energy drink taste. I tried it mixed with apple juice and it was pretty tasty. I also tried it in OJ and that was good as well. Great way to start the day. I’ll give it a grade of B for taste. I enjoyed it.
Kick/ingredients. So does it deliver? 1 tab is good and 2 tabs are even better. Here is what I did several times. 1 tab in some juice when I woke up and then 1 tab in a bottle of water for the gym. It is great for working out in that it is not carbonated and not overly sweet. I got a great buzz that really woke me up and then the bottle at the gym really kept me going. I tried 2 tabs in a bottle of water and got a great buzz that was on par with a Monster or Rockstar. Heck if you want a bigger buzz just add another tab. The buzz last a solid 3 to 4 hours with no crash. Each tablet of Bulltonik contains 80 mg caffeine 500 mg Taurine, 300mg Glucuronolactone, and a good dose of B vitamins with some C thrown in for good measure. It is sugar free and has only 6 calories(not sure of the sweetener used). I give it a grade of B for kick/ingredients (based on a 2 tab serving size)
Web presence: They have a site at bulltonik.com and it is ok. It might not be fancy and is a little dated but it provides good product info as well as a way to order. Not a whole lot else there. One thing I did not like was the music that automatically plays. They need to lose that as it is annoying and it plays every time you click on a link. They do have a Facebook . I also found bulltonik.co.uk. for those in the UK Grade C

Ok so I really enjoyed these tablets. It is a great way to turn anything into a classic style energy drink. It is super portable, allows you to adjust how much energy you want, and it is a great value. You can order 3 tubes for the equivalent of about 16 bucks. That is 60 tablets which equals 30 drinks. That is a value. I hope we get some here in the USA soon. For those in the USA I suggest you get your hands on some of these.
