Ed Hardy Chocolate Rocks and Coffee Rocks

So Ed Hardy is branding pretty much everything now days. The question is, are these all quality products?  I might not have been interested these Chocolate and Coffee rocks but each box contains 600 mg of caffeine and I had heard these were a pretty good product. I contacted Ed Hardy snacks and they were happy to provide me with some samples which is a good sign that they think they are good as well.

Packaging: So each type comes in a little cardboard box that is reseal able.  Both boxes look pretty sharp I think. There are some Ed Hardy tattoo designs on the front and back and the caffeine content is clearly listed. The fonts are nice and it’s just well laid out. Grade B

Slogan:  “It’s Crazy delicious energy” is on their website and really that is not bad. I think it fits well with the look of the product.  Grade BTaste:  

• Chocolate Rocks:  Opening the box you get no scent.  I pour a few out and they are little round chocolates with a black crisp shell like an M&M. I pop a few into my mouth and wow. These things taste great. Once you bite through the sugary shell you get a great semi sweet(dark) creamy chocolate.. There is no caffeine bitterness or aftertaste.  If you like dark chocolate(I do) you are going to love these. It would be way too easy to eat the entire box in one sitting. Grade A
• Coffee Rocks: I get a little coffee scent when I open these. The candy shell on these is a light brown. Popping some in my mouth I find it to be a great blend of coffee and semi sweet chocolate. I think they did a great job combining these 2 flavors. If you are a mocha fan you are going to enjoy these. Grade A-

Kick/ingredients.  So I ate like a half a box(12 to 15 pieces) at a time and let me tell you. You might want to take it easy. These hit me surprisingly fast and hard. I mean in 10 or so minutes I was really jacked up and full of mildly jittery energy. This is a really big boost that had my eyes wide open and really got me going. The buzz lasted 3+ hours with no real crash. I also found if you ate like 6 or 7 and then just snacked on a couple more at a time you could maintain this big buzz for about 5 hours. I did not eat an entire box at once because 600mg of caffeine is too much to consume that quickly. So that’s it pretty much for energy ingredients. Each rock contains about 24 mg of caffeine and there are about 25 rocks in a box. Looking at the ingredients it looks like the caffeine is derived from guarana since that is the only source of caffeine I see listed. Each box comes with 190 calories, 26 grams of carbs, and 21 grams of sugars. There is also 10 grams of fat but it is chocolate. I give these a grade of A for kick/ingredients

Ok so these things really rock!  I mean I am not sure how they got all that caffeine in there without messing up the chocolate flavor but they did a good job. These are super strong and delicious so you have to be careful not to eat an entire box in like 10 minutes or you will be overly wired. I can highly recommend these. I also just learned they use 60% Cocoa which is pretty damn impressive. They might not deliver the longest buzz but they are strong, quick, and tasty.
