It is time for tea, it is time again
Go Fast Energy Tea

Ok so on to the second of the Go Fast “Hybrid” energy drinks. These are sweetened with Stevia so they are lower in calories and more natural. Go Fast always goes for a more natural product and calls itself the Athletes energy drink. I enjoy tea based energy drinks and surprisingly there are quite a few of them out there. Let’s see how Go Fast does with theirs.
Packaging: With their proprietary printing technology you get a very realistic image of some tea leaves with water droplets on them. It looks pretty refreshing. Then you have the typical Go Fast oval logo along with a listing of key ingredients. It is a little busy but then again it gives you a lot of information. Caffeine content is clearly listed on the back label. Grade B+
Slogan: “Stronger For longer” is on their can and it works well. It rhymes and that makes it fun to say and easy to remember. Grade B
Taste: So I pop the top and I get a tea scent that has a sweet edge to it that I can’t quite peg. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a cloudy brown color. The look of this is a little off putting. It reminds me of coffee with a splash of milk in it. It has a very light carbonation. I take a sip and there is a bold and slightly bitter tea taste with a hint of honey and some interesting sourness at the finish. It is mildly sweet. I like my iced tea unsweetened so this flavor is ok with me. It might be a little harsh for those who prefer their tea filled with sugar and lemon. This may not be the best tea energy drink I have tried but it is not the worst either. Grade C
Kick/ingredients. So I drank this down around 1 am. I get off work around 5:30 am and I needed a boost to get me through until then. This drink really did the trick. In no time I was pounding out some work on the PC, chatting up my co workers, and jamming on some music. I was filled with plenty of slightly jittery energy with a great mood boost to boot. This buzz was pretty good and lasted me a solid 4 hours with no crash. It was a notch above your typical 16 oz energy buzz. Each can contains 162 mg caffeine, 2000 mg Taurine, 500 mg Ginseng, 150 mg Guarana, 150 mg Ginko Biloba, 50 mg Inositol, 100 mg Milk Thistle, 182 mg Ribose, and some B vitamins in the 100% dv range. It is sweetened with Stevia, and honey. It contains 3 kinds of tea solids as well. There are 100 calories, 26 grams of carbs, and 24 grams of sugars. Pretty healthy and natural line up. Much better for you than the typical HFC sweetened energy drink. Grade A- for kick/ingredients
Web presence: As I have said before the site at gofastsports.com is pretty sharp they have product info, videos and photos, and about us section, a store, and events (extreme sports anyone?). They also have website for different countries and I don’t mean just a translation but actual different sites for different countries. They also have a Facebook and a Twitter and both are up to date! Grade A- for web presence
Recap:
Ok so as usual this drink from Go Fast impresses me. I like the natural approach a lot and after drinking an entire 16 oz can I don’t feel like bad about drinking in anything artificial or consuming a bunch of HFC. It does not leave me all bloated like a lot of energy drinks do. It delivers a really great boost of energy and it comes in a cool looking can. The taste is the only thing that was a bit of a let down. I’d probably grab one of their Coconut hybrid drinks over this one. Give this one a shot though. Taste is very subjective and you might love this one.
