Ok so I saw these at Wal-Mart and I was intrigued. It was a shot only it was bigger and had a cool label. There were 3 flavors so that was even better. I knew I had try these and the flavor line up looked good. I’ll start with the apple slam first.
Packaging: Headshot Apple Slam Mega energy shot comes in a 4 oz thick plastic bottle with a Green screw on lid. The Bottle is shrink wrapped in a black and green label. There are some squiggly green patterns mixed in with some green camo patterns scattered around in the background. Around the top is a row of black x’s in a green section all the way around. Below the x’s is a cool smiley face with x’s for eyes. The smile face is white with some green pattern leaking around the edges. The flavor “Apple Slam” is in a rough green font with a little green apple graphic next to it. “Headshot” is in a white font with the green pattern leaking behind it and a crosshair in the letter O. The back has the usual nutrition info. I will give them a grade of A- for packaging. I love the funky fonts, the strange green patterns, and the smiley face with x for eyes. The Green cap looks good as well. You think wired just looking at all these things. Great job!
Slogans: I was disappointed here. This drink/shot screams out for a cool slogan. I have to give them a grade of F for slogan. Come on guys lets at least get one up on the website. This drink is suited well for a fun slogan.
Taste ect: I open the lid an I get the scent of apples right away. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a translucent orangish color. Surprise! I take a sip and I get the flavor of a nice granny smith apple. But wait there is also the classic RB energy drink flavor in the back ground. Its like took a tart green apple candy flavor and added it to a classic energy drink. Sweet, smooth, tart, and delicious. I will have to say I drank it down right away but slow enough to enjoy the delicious flavors. There was no after taste or medicinal taste whatsoever. This is the best shot I have tried. I will give them a grade of A for taste. They really nailed down an awesome flavor.
Kick/Ingredients: Ok so it is scoring well so far. How about in the energy department? Apple slam is a good name. In about 10 or 15 minutes I felt like that little smiley face on the label. It’s like I was slammed in the head with an energy apple and it adsorbed directly into my brain. I was like Johnny apple seed for 4 or 5 hours speed walking all over the place. Crash was minimal. Energy ingredients are Taurine 1000 mg, Guarana 50 mg, Caffeine ??? mg, Inositol 24 mg, and B vitamins at a high level. Top ingredients listed are Water, Sucrose, and citric acid. It comes in at 90 calories and 21 grams of sugar. B+ for kick. I have to say this is pretty damn potent.
Web presence: They have a pretty good site at headshotenergyshot.com. The site is really cool looking with the same style as the graphics and font on the bottle. It appears to be pretty new though and some parts are”coming soon”. I will cut them some slack and give them a grade of C for web presence. It looks to have some great potential as long as they finish working on it. Still I say check it out just because it looks cool.

Wow I think these guys are really on to something. The packaging is super sturdy and easily portable. Its size is kind of like a hybrid between a shot and an 8.4 oz energy drink. I guess that is why they call it a Mega shot! I love the classic taste mixed with the added flavor of green apples and the awesome buzz. If you see these at your local store I highly recommend you grab several. Trust me grab a bunch and save yourself a trip back because you’re gonna want more. Now guys lets get a cool slogan and get the website finished and you will really be tops.
