Hyphy Juice Grapple
So the other day a reader contacted me and asks about Hyphy Juice drinks. While they are not available where I live I did have some in my backlog that I had gotten from a friend out of state. It took some digging but I found my can of grapple flavor. So here is the requested review!
Packaging: A nice shiny 10 oz silver can with some bright green graphics on it. The logo part looks pretty sharp but the flavor at the bottom is hard to make out. It always helps to let people know what flavor the drink is. It’s not a bad design but then it is nothing special. Grade C for packaging
Slogans: “Premier Energy Source” Is on the can and that is all I could find. Really with the whole Hyphy slang out there you would think they could have came up with something more fun than that. I really don’t think it works with the drinks image or look either. Grade C-
Taste ect. I pop the top and get a nice sweet apple scent. Pouring some in a glass it comes out a bright green color with a heavy carbonation level. I take a sip and I get a really tart granny smith flavor up front. This tart apple is followed but a good strong carbonation bite and finishes up with some lingering purple grape at the finish. It is very sweet with no bitterness at all. This is a very soda like flavored drink and it really is delicious if. I actually like the high carbonation level and since I am a fan of green apples I found this to be a great tasting drink. I like how the grape stays hidden then at the end your like “wow” there is some sweet purple grape in their after all. Grade A-
Kick/Ingredients: I drank this as fast as the carbonation allowed me to(you won’t be chugging it down too fast). In the usual 15 minutes I found myself making Going Dumb and generally being in an energetic and boisterous mood. I had a good solid mid level buzz. It was not over the top or jittery but I was very awake and really got some stuff done. I had this level of energy for a good 4 hours with only a minor sugar crash at the end. The energy comes from ??? mg caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, Inositol, B vitamins in the 100% range, and also 100% of your dv for vitamin C. You get this with 140 calories and 72 grams of sugars and carbs. It is sweetened with HFC. It was nothing special but it slightly above average. Grade C+
Web presence: The site at hyphyjuice.com Is just really out of date along with their Myspace. The site looked ok but did not really provide any drink info or really anything fun or useful. Grade D for web presence

Well I will tell you something. If you want a damn tasty tart drink then you will love this one. You won’t be making a Thizz Face after drinking this for sure. I also think it would make a really awesome mixer with some vodka (if you are of age). The kick was slightly above average and the calories were not even too bad. So I say go ahead grab some Hyphy Juice and Ghost-ride the whip while shaking your dreads. Just don’t expect to be jacked up to the max on caffeine. Do expect to want a second can for the taste though.
