Kronik Dragon Berry
So a long time ago I reviewed the Kronik Dragonberry protein energy drink. Sadly the protein energy drink category did not really catch on at least not with the general public. Kronik went through a lot of changes since then and they are back with their Dragonberry flavor. This time there is no protein. How will this new Dragonberry be? Lets check it out.
Packaging: Kronik as usual delivers a nice can. It’s a nice black can that looks very aggressive with its barb wire and jagged fonts. The stenciled looking “Energy” on the front really sticks out well and lets you know this is an energy drink. I really like the overall look as usual and they stick with what works. Caffeine content is clearly listed on the back label. Grade B+
Slogan: “Caution: This don’t grow on trees” is on the can. I love their different little slogans. It does not really say energy to me but it does have an aggressive attitude to it. Grade B
Taste: I pop the top and get a nice strawberry scent. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a bright pinkish red color with a heavy carbonation. I like a nice stron carbonation level. I take a sip and I get some nice sweet strawberry flavor up front with maybe a hint of Dragon Berry (taste like Kiwi). At the finish I also get some hints of a light fruit punch. I think strawberry fruit punch would be a good description of this flavor. It’s pretty sweet and that works very well with the high carbonation. It is refreshing and there is no bitterness or aftertaste. Grade B+
Kick/Ingredients: Kick/Ingredients: So after I drank this down it hit me in the usual 15 minutes. Kronik delivers a nice mid level buzz with some mild sugar jitters. It had me going good and just really enjoying what I was doing. I had a good level of energy that easily lasted me 4 hours with only a minor crash. Kronik is powered by per can 150 mg Caffeine, 2000 mg Taurine, 100 mg Ginseng, 100 mg Guarana, 50 mg Ginko Biloba, 50 mg Inositol, 150 mg Glucuronolactone, 50 mg Milk Thistle, and a good dose of B vitamins along with some vitamin C. Then they even throw in some Glucosamine. This comes with 260 calories, 61 grams of carbs, and 60 grams of sugars. I give it a grade of B-
Web Presence: The site at kronikenergy.com keeps coming along. It is really happening now with bands, ingredients, photos, teams, and a store. They also have a MySpace and a Facebook. I’ll give them a grade of B for web presence.

I tell you something. Kronik is really coming back in a strong fashion. This flavor is super tasty, comes in an awesome can, and delivers a fairly long lasting strong buzz. This is a very good product and if it available I suggest you grab a few cans and work it in your daily routine. I hope Kronik really makes a run at the big boys. This can looks so sharp and aggressive that I think that a lot of extreme sport type fans and athletes will be drawn to it. I did not get to try this as a mixer but with its bold flavor I think it would hold up very well.
