Penthouse Clear Wild Berry
Ok this one was not easy to find but I finally got my hands on some. Penthouse has always been a notch up over Playboy as far as magazines go. Sure Playboy has the celebrities and girl next door type but Penthouse brings you the kind of girls you don’t want to bring home to mom. That is just my opinion of course. I am hoping Penthouse brings a more exciting energy drink than Playboy does.
Packaging: You have a 12 oz slim can with a weird logo in the middle. The name Penthouse is there in the middle and there is a weird looking chick in the logo that has what looks like a tail. It is interesting but I would prefer if they just went with the Penthouse Key and the name which would be more familiar and classy. At least they went with the 12 oz can though. Grade C+
Slogans: “Clearly Stimulating” is printed on the top of the can. I think it works well with the image of Penthouse as well as the fact it is an energy drink. It is drink specific which is always a plus with me. Grade B
Taste ect: I pop the top and pour some in a glass. The liquid is clear with a high level of carbonation. The scent is clearly mixed berries. Taking a sip it is a really nice mixed berry flavor with a hint of creaminess. It’s almost like a wild berry and cream soda combo. Really it taste great and there is no after taste or bitterness. It is not gummy nor is it over sweet. I tried it mixed with Vodka as well and it mixed very well covering the Vodka taste easily. One of the better mixers I have had in a while. Really I have to say taste wise Penthouse clear is one unique and tasty drink. Grade B+
Kick/Ingredients: I drank the can down and in 15 minutes I noticed I was filled with great energy. I’d say the energy level is on par with most 16 oz energy drinks. I was animated, invigorated, and stimulated. I had plenty of focus and my mood was greatly improved. It really put me in a party mood. I’d say the buzz lasted 4 hours and there was no crash. It was not jittery but it was still pretty strong. Penthouse Clear contains Caffeine 150 mg, Taurine 1125 mg, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, B vitamins, and Xian Cao. Xian Cao is something I have never seen in any other drink and is supposed to be similar to Ginseng. You get 75 calories and 18 grams of carbs and sugars. It is sweetened with Crystaline Fructose and sucralose. I give this drink a grade of B+ for kick/ingredients. It’s a B for kick and the + is for low cal and unique ingredients.
Web presence: penthouseclear.com is really a lot better than I expected. It has a nice look and flow and provides drink and ingredients info. It even has a page about how the drink is manufactured with some videos which is very unique. There is a store and also an events page. There are no naked chicks which my make you happy or sad. Check it out. Grade B+ for web presence

Ok so Penthouse did not just slap their name on some generic drink. They actually put in a lot of effort into it and it shows. It has a great and unique taste and a good strong kick. It also makes a great mixer for those of you that are of age. I am really impressed with this drink. This drink easily smacks down the lame attempt at a drink put out by Playboy. Kudos to Penthouse Clear for going the extra mile and making a great drink. The only thing I did not like was the packaging artwork. I don’t think it lives up to what is inside the can. If you can find it try it. It will surprise you for sure.
