Let's Show These Boys How It Really Goes Down
Pit bull energy bar Peanut Caramel Crunch

I sure you all have tried some type of protein or power bar in the past. They might not always be tasty but they are great for when you are on the go and don’t have time for a meal. So along comes Pit Bull to kick things up by adding caffeine. Can they deliver a good energy bar? Let’s find out.
Packaging: So I think they nailed the typical energy bar packaging pretty well. It is not anything special but it is easily identifiable as an energy bar. They list key ingredients clearly on the front. I like the fact that they left off the pit bull image since I don’t think that would work on this type of product. I give them a solid C+ for packaging
Slogan: “The best tasting energy bar” is on the package and it is the best I could find. I’m not going to say it is great but it is the message they want to get out there. I’ll give it a grade of C
Taste: Ok so the picture on the front of the wrapper looks pretty tasty. When I open the bar and take a bite it looks nothing like the image, Looks like your typical chocolate covered energy bar with a dense brown filling with a few peanuts in it. I take a bite and it has a nice peanut and caramel taste all mixed together. The chocolate fudge like covering really works wel with the caramel and peanut to make for a good tasting energy bar. It’s no candy bar but it is one of the best tasting energy bars I have tried with no vitamin taste to be found. Grade B
Kick/Ingredients: I ate the bar instead of breakfast and it took about 20 to 30 minutes to really feel it. Because it is food the caffeine is not delivered as quickly. Once it hit though I was surprised at the kick. I really got a good burst of somewhat jittery energy. This buzz is easily on par with a 16 oz energy drink only it is smoother. I was really alert and I was full as well. I had a good strong buzz for a solid 4 hours. This energy bar is powered by 164 mg Caffeine, 1000 mg Taurine, 50 mg Ginseng, 100 mg Inositol, 112 mg Guarana, and a decent amount of B vitamins. You also have some calcium and some Vitamin C. To top it all off you get15 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber. This comes with 210 calories, 8 grams of sugar and 22 grams of carbs. There is also 10 grams of fat. I give this bar a grade of B for kick/ingredients.
Web Presence: The site at pitbullenergybar.com is a lot better than the site for their drinks. There is tons of product info, a gallery, calendar, testimonials, and a store. Really they did a good job here so check it out. Grade B
Recap:
Wow so this is my new favorite energy bar. I can take this on my long rides or hikes. It taste good and delivers nutrition with a kick. This makes a solid meal replacement. I was really surprised by the kick. You can get a fee bar (about 2.86) shipping from their website if you would like to try one. I can’t wait to try their other flavors. If you try one let me know what you think.
