I said Baby watch the place shake like an Earthquake
Quake energy drink

Well I stumbled upon this drink at an out of the way gas station while I was on a long bike ride and had to haul it back 20 miles. I sure hope it was worth it.
Packaging: Ok right off I will tell you they really went all out to mimic Monster energy drink. As soon as I saw the pull tab was a bright green I immediately though this would be a Monster clone. It is in a 16 oz can that is all black. Around the top it list kee ingredients in a font that is like broken stone. The name Quake is on 2 sides and is a green crude font that has some yellow and brown behind the font. There are some jagged silver cracks in the black label here and there. Below the name it also lists the slogan in silver. On the back are nutrition facts. I like the cracked stone font but the main name font looks cheap. They did a nice job mimicking monster with the all black can with green logo. Grade C- for packaging
Slogan: “Earth Shattering Energy drink” is on the can and it is pretty good I think since it is unique to the Quake name. I give them a B for slogan
Taste: Popping the top I get the expected bubble gum monster energy scent. I pout some in a cup and it is a translucent yellow color which I did not expect. It has a very high level of carbonation. I take a sip and it is pretty much a clone of green Monster with an apple, bubblegum mix up front with some citrus tartness at the finish. It is very sweet and just a tad bit gummy. I’d say it is a fairly good job of a Monster clone but maybe a little gummier and carbonated. There was no bitterness or after taste. Grade D+
Kick/Ingredients: I drank the can down pretty quick because it was just too gummy and sweet for me. I got my buzz going though and it hit me with a pretty on par kick. I was going strong with a tad of jitters for a good 3+ hours. If you are used to drinking 16 oz Monster then this is pretty much the same buzz. I did have a fair to hard crash at the end though. The ingredients are really different than Monster with Caffeine, Taurine, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, Choline, and B vitamins in the mid range. Amounts are not listed but I suspect they are in the typical amounts. You get 240 calories, 62 grams of carbs, and 58 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with HFC. Grade C for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: I could find nothing at all on the web about this drink. Not even on the manufacturer’s website. Grade F
Recap:
Well this was an easy one to figure out. I am sure they were shooting for a Monster clone and I think they did a decent job. The ingredients are a little different and the taste was worse. The kick was similar so I guess they got that right. I guess if it cost less then maybe you could get this instead of a Monster. Thing is that it was the same price so why would you? I mean if you see this drink at a store I am pretty sure they will be selling Monster as well. It’s worth grabbing to try once and maybe collect the can but otherwise I say pass.
