Rockstar Recovery Grape

Ok so Rockstar kinda slipped this one out there with no real promotion. The original Recovery is a pretty nice drink. Then again if you were not a lemonade fan you were out of luck. Now Rockstar has remedied that with 2 new flavors. Lemon haters can rejoice! Lets check out this grape flavor first.

Packaging: Man Rockstar really delivers when it comes to cool cans. This one might be the best yet. There is something about the black and purple combination that is just awesome. Then you throw in some blue and white and you got one awesome can. It is a thing of beauty.  Of course it comes with the cool black top. Grade A+

Slogan:  “Energy+Hydration” is about all I could find. Not much of a slogan but it will have to do. Grade C

Taste: So I pop the top and right away the sweet grape scent wafts up to me. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a light purple. This is a non carbonated drink meant to be drank quickly so that is what I did. It has a sweet grape flavor with a hint of artificial sweetener. It is pretty tasty but not quite thirst quenching. There is no bitterness or aftertaste.  I did enjoy it and if you like grape you probably will also. Might want to have a water chaser to cleanse the pallet afterward.  Grade B-

Kick/Ingredients: So to properly test this product I went out for a few drinks the night before and I had this first thing in the morning. I was thirsty and it went down pretty smooth. It hit me pretty hard in about 15 minutes. I had a pretty strong and slightly jittery buzz. It definitely woke me up and refreshed me. I was able to get up and get my day going. In fact I really had no choice but to get going. This drink really delivered and I was buzzed for a solid 4 hours with no crash to speak of. Recovery is powered by per can 160 mg caffeine, 2000 mg Taurine, 100 mg Ginseng, 50 mg N Acetyl L-Cysteine, 40 mg Milk Thistle, A fair amount of B vitamins, and 50 mg Prickly pear extract. The biggest different between recover and other Rockstar drinks is with the addition of the prickly pear and the N Acetyl L Cystein and the lack of Guarana and Ginko Biloba.  It comes in at 20 calories and 1 gram of carbs and sugars.  Grade B

Web Presence: Just go to rockstar69.com. It is the best energy drink sight out there. At this moment you won’t find this flavor there but I am sure it will be there soon. Grade A+

Recap:

So I have to say I am impressed. This drink really delivered kick wise. The grape was a tad sweet but overall not too bad. It goes down smooth and fast.  I say if you need some recovery from working or playing hard this is a pretty good option. I think the Lemonade was a better tasting choice but otherwise these are the same. Keep an eye out for this awesome can in the cooler and give it a try. As always let me know what you think.
