Slap Frost Low Calorie

For my second Slap energy drink I’m going with the Frost Low Calorie drink. This drink contains a unique chilling ingredient(I don’t know what it is but it sounds intriguing. Lets get to it.
Packaging: Slap frost low calorie comes in a nice 16 oz can with a dark blue and black background that is kind of a starburst pattern. At the top of the can it reads “Energy 9.0” in gold font and “Multi-stage energy supplement” in a white font. In the middle of the can is the Slap logo which consists of a hand that looks like it’s slapping a grimacing smiley face in the back of its head. Below the logo is “Slap” in a gold font and then at the bottom is a section that tells you it is “Energy+Sensation” and Frost in an icy white font. The back of the can has supplement facts and a little paragraph about the drink. Grade B for packaging. Love the overall color scheme which works with the Frost theme and of course I really dig the logo.
Slogan: Still have the slogan “Energy 9.0”. Not really a true slogan but it sets Slap apart from the rest. I will give them a grade of C for slogan.
Taste: I have been looking forward to this cooling sensation. Would it be like Cocaine energy drink with its numbing effect? I pop the top and I get a somewhat RB clone scent although not as strong as most. I pour some in a glass and it comes out a crystal clear liquid with a strong level of carbonation. I take a sip and it is similar just a little to a RB clone drink. It has a much more delicate clean crisp flavor. The level of sweetness is right on the money and you really can’t tell this is a low calorie drink. There is no bitterness or after taste. Then after a few drinks the cooling sensation hits you. I was drinking this drink ice cold but the sensation made it seem twice as cold and I must say extremely refreshing. It’s not really minty tasting or numbing but it just makes it very cool. You have to try this. With the heavy carbonation added in it really makes this one of the most refreshing energy drinks I have tried to date. Grade B+ for taste
Kick/Ingredients: This was a great drink and after I drank it down I wished I had another. The energy gradually built up and I was fully alert in 20 or 30 minutes but not jittery at all. The buzz kept me going much longer than your average drink for sure and there was no crash to speak of. I was going strong easily for 5 hours. The energy 9.0 ingredients are different than the last Slap drink I had and include Isomaltulose, Guarana, Taurine, Caffeine(I think about 200mg), , B3, B6, and B12, and Maltodextrin. That makes only 8 but you lose the energy you would get from sugars. The Isomaltulose is a unique sweetener with a low glycemic response that is slowly digested for prolonged energy with no crash. There are 20 calories. 10 grams of carbs, and 6 grams of sugars. I give them a grade of B. There is a little less energy since it is a low calorie drink but it still last a real long time without crashing
Web Presence: The website at slapdrinks.com. The site is easy to navigate and has easy to find info like product info, energy 9.0 info, Team Slap, events, and locations where you can buy Slap drinks. They also have a Myspace that is up-to-date and good as well. Not the most awesome site I have ever seen or anything but still pretty good. B- for the web presence.
Recap:
I have to say I really enjoyed the refreshing crisp clean taste of the drink and the cooling sensation. I don’t know how they give you the cooling sensation but it was awesome. The energy boost is not over the top but is very smooth and super long lasting. You really need to give this a try if you get the chance. If you’re like me you will be wanting to drink this on a regular basis.
