Molotov Tamarindo
Ok this will be one of those rare flavors that I have never tried. Tamarind is a fruit I know of but have yet to try. Where I am from there is a large Latino population so I am familiar with it but have never drunk a drink flavored with it. There was another company who made Tamarind energy drink but they told me I could not appreciate it since I was not Latino. I call BS on that. I mean do you have to be French to enjoy French food? I love Mexican food even though I am not Mexican. I was actually insulted by their remark. Lucky for me Molotov came along and made a Tamarind energy drink and were more than happy to hook me up with a sample.
Packaging: I really enjoy the desibg of all the Molotov cans. This one is a 16 oz can in kind of a bronze color. The typical logo of a hand holding a flaming Molotov cocktail is pretty cool. I like the fonts used and the fact the label is not all cluttered up with too much junk. Nice job that will appeal to their target market. Grade B
Slogan: “Explosive Energy” is on the front of the can and it fits pretty well. Nothing ground breaking but not bad. Grade B-
Taste: I popped the top and I got a nice fruity scent. Hard to describe but it smelled appetizing. I poured some in a cup and it comes out a brown liquid with a medium carbonation. I take a sip and it is a really unique flavor. It is tart, tropical, and also has a tea like flavor. At the finish it leaves a nice tropical taste that lingers pleasantly. It is pretty sweet but in a good way. No bitterness or after taste. I really enjoyed it. For my first experience with this flavor I was impressed. Grade B
Kick/Ingredients: I drank this can on a first night shift. This is usually a pretty tough night to get through sine I usually wind up being awake 20 to 24 hours. The drink hit me in the usual 15 minutes. It was not a hard hit but it did wake me up. It got me through the next four hours with out me getting sleepy. It was a pretty average boost but it worked well because I wanted to be able to sleep when I got home. There was no crash at the end. It seems the drink formulation is different on this flavor. It is only 2200 mg energy blend where as the others have a 5000 mg blend? The 2200 mg blend consist of Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, L-Carnitine, and some B vitamins. Seems if you want more kick you have to go with the other flavors. It comes in at 240 calories, 62 grams of carbs, and 60 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with sugar. Grade C

Ok so I am pretty impressed with my first time trying a Tamarind flavored drink. If you have not tried one I suggest you start with this one from Molotov. This is a tasty drink in a cool can. I am surprised by how different the ingredients where on this drink compared to the other flavors. Still I think you should give it a try. It may have average kick but it is a great and interesting drink.
