Turkey Perky Jerky
So a while back I tried and liked the original beef Perky jerky. I knew they were working on a turkey version and have been waiting ever since to get my hands on some. Around my house and job the original was a big hit. I wonder if the turkey will be as popular.
Packaging: Love the cool foil type bag when keeps the product good and fresh. It stands out well and catches your eye. The little turkey image on the front is a lot of fun and very original. I still would like to see a way to reseal the bag since this is meant to snack on it would be a great touch. I also noticed that on the front there is no mention of invigorating or anything that might lead you to believe this is a energy snack. I’ll still give it a grade of B+
Slogan: “Grab a Jerk and Go” is right on the back of the bag. I still like it but would like to see something new. I have seen another slogan for them that read “Everyone wants my Meat” Now that is a good slogan. Grade B
Taste: So tearing into the bag I get a nice sweet scent. It is sweet and pleasant. The Jerky itself is very moist and slightly sticky with speck of black pepper visible on the surface. I toss a few pieces into my mouth and this turkey is very tender and soft. Usually turkey jerky is a little dry to me but they have avoided that. The flavor starts of as a sweet teriyaki and as you eat more and more(you will trust me) the heat of the pepper really starts to kick in. In the end it is pretty spicy and the sweetness really works well with the heat. It is supposed to be 2 servings per bag but I ate mine all in one sitting. There is no bitterness and it really is some great tasting jerky. A+ for taste. it might be a bit spicy for some but I loved it.
Kick/Ingredients: So as with most products you eat the energy really does not hit you hard. It takes about 30 minutes and then you realize you are wide awake. There are no jitters or really any kind of “buzz” but it is just a nice energy boost which gets you focused and alert. It fills you up and satisfies your hunger so you can keep going at whatever it is you are doing. From playing video games to hiking, shopping, skiing, and more it is a great energizing snack to have on hand. I had good energy and focus for around 4 hours with no crash. Now as for ingredients energy wise it contains only Guarana. Guarana contains caffeine and I think there is about 150 mg worth in the guarana included in a bag of this jerky. You are not allowed to add caffeine to meat products but the Guarana is there for flavoring and the energy is just a bonus. The jerky is made from Turkey breast. No turkey butts or thighs or backs. Just good quality white turkey meat. It comes with per bag 100 calories, 4 grams of sugar, 4 grams of carbs, and 9 grams of Protein. There are no preservatives. It also has several organic ingredients. Very much quality stuff. I give it a B for kick/ingredients. It is not a strong kick but it quality

Ok so as long as you are not a whuss who can’t handle a little heat then you need to try this. I love the sweet and heat as well as the tenderness and quality ingredients. The energy is just an added bonus. I’d buy this for taste alone. The only people who would not like this are Vegans. Heck I think if you kidnapped a vegan, tied them to a chair, and fed them a single bag of Turkey Perky jerky they would thank you and turn into raging carnivores. Don’t actually do this though since you will go to jail. Just stick to smacking your lips loudly while eating your jerky and laughing at them while they choke down some delicious tofurkey! Really though this is a great ting to keep at work or take on a trip. In fact it is great anywhere and I suggest you try some as soon as possible.
