Vicious cookies
So this is a product I have been excited about quite a while. I love caffeine and I love cookies. Combining the 2 is like Nirvana to me. I love unique energy products so when I saw this one at kingofcaffeine.com I knew I had to get my hands on some.
Packaging: What can I say? The package alone will draw you in. You can see the little cookies through the window on the front. Then you have all these little maniacal heads on the front who looked jacked up on caffeine. The Crazy fonts bring it all together. One other nice touch is a sticker inside the box. Grade B+ for packaging,
Slogan: “Vicious will satisfy your every craving” is on the box and it’s not bad. I think it works well with the coffee, chocolate, cookie. I give it a grade of C+
Taste: When I open the little pack of cookies I get a nice coffee and chocolate scent. Popping a few in my mouth (they are slightly bigger than a quarter) there is a rich and robust taste to these cookies. There are heavy duty with mild dark chocolate, molasses, and butter being the dominate flavors. Mixed into the cookie are crunchy coffee bean bits that add texture and some nice finishing coffee flavor. I am somewhat under whelmed since I expected a more chocolaty taste. These are mildly sweet and rich though. I give them a grade of C for taste
Kick/Ingredients: So I figured the best way to start my day was with caffeinated cookies. The serving size is 4 cookies so I went ahead and ate about 8 of them. I waited and then when I felt nothing I went back and ate a couple more. Still I got only the mildest of boost from these cookies and I had to hit the coffee at work since I was really not waking up very well. So the ingredients here include an undisclosed amount of caffeine (from the coffee beans). There is no added caffeine and really coffee beans is way down on the ingredients list. What you will get per 4 cookies is 160 calories, 10 grams of fat, 20 grams of carbs, and 8 grams of sugar. I give this product a grade of D for kick/ingredients.
Web Presence: The site at killercookie.com has the cool little maniacal heads on it animated in flash. That is pretty much it except for an ingredients list and a store.

Kingofcaffeine.com was nice enough to hook me up with some of these and I really wanted to like them. It is too bad that they just did not deliver much kick. Even the taste is not enough to justify the calories and fat. All that aside though these would make a nice gift as part of a caffeine junky gift basket or gag gift. The box alone is great to have around as a cool conversation piece. I guess I’ll have to keep searching for my cookie/caffeine nirvana.
