And a tall latte! Let’s go! Move it!

Whynatte Latte

Coffee based drinks are popping up all over the place. Some good and some not so good. Whynatte is far from a new comer though. They have been building up a fan base since 2004 and are starting to catch on all over. One of their main selling points has been getting behind the bar. They make a great mixer from what I have heard. Hey Red Bull has really made it big with this strategy so it seem like a great idea. Lets check this drink out.

Packaging: Whynatte goes for class with a black and gold 8 oz can. The art work is nice and the fonts work well with the image. It is also clear from the text on the front this is a coffee and energy drink. Overall a pretty nice little can. Grade B-

Slogans:  “I found this in the blurb about the drink that is on the side of the can. “Life just got a Latte better” and I love it. I am a sucker for word play like this and I think they should use it more. Grade A-

Taste ect: So I shook it up and poured some in a glass. It comes out a deep rich brown color. Taking a sip I get a nice cream flavor up front with some coffee at the finish. The coffee flavor is a minor player in this drink with the cream being the leader. Really this is the way a latte should be. There is no bitterness or after taste at all and the drink is not overly thick like some coffee drinks are. It has a more natural taste and mouth feel to it. The level of sweetness is on the low side as well. I also tried it as a mixer and made a drink called “the saint” on their website which is basically whiskey, baileys and Whynatte. This was delicious.  Grade B for taste

Kick/Ingredients: Ok so I tried a can in the morning in place of my usual cup of coffee and it was great. Before I even finished the can it hit me good. I had a great burst of energy that was much stronger then my morning cup of coffee.  Really this was a top notch buzz for an only 8 oz drink. I was on the verge of jitters and filled with energy. I actually got my work started early. This really kicked my day off proper. I had a good solid buzz for 4 hours with no real crash at the end. Whynatte is powered by 90 mg caffeine, 1000mg Taurine, 100 mg Ginseng, 25 mg Guarana, 175 mg L-Carnitine , coffee, and a fair dose of B vitamins. To top it off you get some calcium from the hormone free milk. There are 100 calories and only 15 grams of carbs and 9 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with sugar and sucralose.  I’ll give it a grade of B for kick/ingredients. Foe an 8 oz coffee drink it is stronger than I expected.

Web presence:  The site at whynatte.com is pretty nice. It is laid out well and everything is easy to find. It has good ingredients info as well as a store, recipes, locator, press, and a cool about section. It is worth a look for sure. They also have a Facebook and a Twitter but they don’t link to these from their site so I had to find them myself. All of their stuff is up to date and active.  Grade B for web presence.

Recap:

Ok so this turns out to be one of the best coffee energy drinks I have tried. It is easy on the calories and provides a good strong kick. To top all that off it makes an awesome mixer and if I ran a bar I would make sure to have some handy since there are some many coffee based shots and drinks. I can see this brand continue to grow as one of the leaders in the RTD coffee market. If you see it buy some and if you don’t see it ask for it.
