Wild Stallion Berry Energy Shot

I have tried a couple of Wild Stallion Energy Drinks and had mixed results. I thought I would give the Wild Stallion shots a try though. They look a lot less generic than the drinks and I’m hoping they are less generic overall including kick and tatse.

Packaging: Your usual 2 oz shot bottle. It has a really nice shrink wrap label that covers it all including the lid. I like the sticker on the top of the lid since it really sticks out and would be easy to read looking down at the counter of your local store when you check out. The coloring and the stallion on the label locks very nice and the label itself is glossy and top notch as far as quality goes. Nice job. Grade B

Slogan: “Trot Faster . Farther. Freer” is there on the label. You know I love drink specific slogans but the whole trot thing just does not work for me. It just feels wrong. People don’t trot, they also don’t canter or gallop. If this was an energy drink for horses it would work but for people it does not. Grade D+

Taste: I open the lid and the shot is a light caramel color with a nice berry scent. I take a sip and it is a sweet mixed berry flavor with a noticeable artificial sweetener taste to it and some very sourness at the finish. The sourness keeps all bitterness away though and really it is not a bad taste for a shot. Nothing ground breaking but very passable. Grade C+

Kick/Ingredients: I drank it late in the day when I was very tired. I was not expecting much really. Then like a rampaging heard of wild horses it hit me. I was trampled under the crushing hooves of a big energy boost. I really got a good buzz going and it lasted a good 4 to 5 hours with no crash. I became super talkative and really got a lot more done than I had throughout the earlier part of the day. Wild stallion made a really good shot when it comes to energy. This stallion is powered by Caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, Tyrosine a fair dose of B vitamins, 200% of your vitamin C and the enzyme blend of  Amylase, Protease, Lipase, Cellulase, and Lactase. You get 0 calories and 0 grams of carbs and sugars.  It is sweetened with Sorbitol, sucralose, and Ace K. Sorbitol is not something I have seen in a lot of drinks and shots. Amounts are not listed but I guess it was probably the typical amount found in 90% of all other shots out there. Easily a grade of B for kick/ingredients.

Web Presence: The website at trotfaster.com is still pretty sparse except for some pictures of the products and some contact info. If you want to find out anything else you have to visit the parent company at imbibeinc.com where at least you can find a little bit of ingredients info. Grade D for web presence

Recap:

You know for what I was expecting to be a week clone of 5 hour energy I was very surprised. Wild Stallion is a really good quality shot. It looks nice, taste good, and kicks pretty hard. This shot could easily replace your usual 5 hour energy shot if you can find it. It looks mature enough to fit in with the mature consumer that buys a lot of 5 hour shots. If this is at your desk or in your purse you would not be embarrassed. Still it looks aggressive enough that younger energy shot consumers won’t be ashamed to be see drinking it. Give it a try if you can find it.
