I’m your turbo lover

ABB Diet Turbo Raspberry Tea

I have tried a few products from American Body Building in the past and found them to make pretty good products. These are the kinds of products you find at the gym or vitamin store not the local gas station. I used to work out a lot but in the last few years I have been more into running and biking. For this reason I chose the Diet turbo tea as my first review of the ABB lineup. I figured it fit well with my activities.

Packaging: Ok so right away they stand out with an 18 oz silver ribbed plastic bottle with a silver label. This is a totally unique package from what I have seen. It has a resealable lid on top and a reddish purple dotted fade pattern on the label. There is the ABB logo towards the top which is an American eagle character all pumped up. On the front it reads “Diet Turbo Tea” and “Energized Tea Supplement” Back has supplement facts. Really this package fits in well with the market they are aiming for and the resealable lid and ribbed design make it easy to carry around and sip as needed. Grade B for packaging.

Slogan: The only slogan I could find was one for the entire brand “The force in the Gym”. Not really catchy but it does get the message across that this is a brand for those that like to exercise. C for slogan

Taste: You know I was a little scared before opening this drink. Hardcore gym drinks are not usually known for their tastiness. I opened this drink and got a scent that had no chemical or vitamin smell at all. It just smelled like a raspberry tea. Pouring some in a cup it came out looking like you expect an iced tea to look like. It really just looks like your typical brewed black tea. Taking a sip it is a pretty sweet raspberry flavor with a little tea at the finish. There was no bitterness or vitamin taste at all. Really this is similar to any canned ice tea you would find on the soda aisle. It does have the artificial sweetener taste of a diet drink. I really enjoyed drinking this bottle of tea. Even after it warmed up a little it still tasted good. Grade B for taste

Kick/Ingredients: I drank some on the way home from work so I would be ready for my run. It kept me alert and motivated through the drive home. Once I got home I was felling pretty energetic and got right to my run. I felt like this drink had hydrated me well and really gave me the energy I needed to get through my run and then when I returned I finished off the bottle and proceeded to do some yard work as well. This is the perfect drink for after work I think. It is not a super strong drink and did not keep me from sleeping later but it gave me the needed afternoon boost so I could get my exercise done with energy to spare. My buzz lasted 3 to 4 hours and there was no crash. Surprisingly there are not a ton of ingredients in this drink. 90mg caffeine, Ginseng, Guarana, and some electrolytes. No carbs and no sugar. I will give it a grade of C+ for kick/ingredients. No it is not supper strong but it really does what it is supposed to and that is energize and hydrate you. I will be keeping some of theses handy for sure.

Web Presence: The site at americanbodybuilding.com is a pretty nice site. Professionally done, easy to navigate, loaded with product and ingredients information. It also has a nice store and an events section. It’s not one of those multimedia loaded fun sites but I am impressed with the information about the products which is very important to me. I give the site a grade of B+

Recap:

This is the kind of drink that makes a short review impossible. If you only go for basic kick when rating a drink then you’re missing the different uses energy drinks can have. This diet turbo tea works great as a work out drink without being extreme. I mean really I don’t need 400 mg of caffeine at 5 in the afternoon. I do need a boost to keep me going and motivated through my after work exercise and responsibilities. Raspberry Turbo tea kept me hydrated and energized without being jittery and then allowed me to get a good night sleep later.  It tasted pretty good to top it all off.  Give it a try and let me know what you think of it.
