Nothing Shocking
Aftershock energy drink

Ok so I picked up this drink at the dollar tree for only 1 buck. I would say I was not expecting much except for the fact that I have scored several pretty good energy drinks in the same place like Sport energy and Rip It. Those two were good bargains and provided good taste and kick. Will Aftershock be another good bargain? Times are tough so getting a good deal on your drinks can save you some money.
Packaging: Aftershock energy drink comes in a 16 oz can. The can has a blue to black fade pattern on it and it has a Richter scale on it. At the top if reads” With B vitamins” in a white font. In the middle is the name “Aftershock” in a nice white font with some cracks in it like cement in an earthquake over a jagged spike graphic on the Richter scale. The back has nutrition facts. To tell the truth this can looks cheap. I like the idea of the whole earthquake thing but it just does not look very professional. Grade C- for packaging. At least you’re getting 16 oz for your dollar.
Slogan: Nothing on the can and nothing on the web. Come on with the name Aftershock surely you could of came up with a cool slogan. Grade F
Taste: I pop the top and the scent is? Red Bull clone! Ding ding ding I’m a winner. That was what I was expecting. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a caramel type color with a medium carbonation. I take a sip and it is a RB clone. Slightly gummy and pretty sweet. It has the whole white grape apple thing going on but not a good one. The carbonation is at a good level but it is not one of the better RB clones I have tried. I will give it a C- for taste.
Kick/Ingredients: Ok so will I get a huge and dangerous aftershock from drinking this? I drank it down over about a 30 minute period. By the time I finished I did experience a mild buzz with no jitters. The buzz lasted less than 3 hours though. The drink is powered by d-glucuronolactone, caffeine, malic acid, taurine inositol, and a low dose of B vitamins. You get this weak buzz with only 240 calories,62 grams of sugars, and 62 grams of carbs. Weak kick and empty calories all for a buck! Grade D+ for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: They do have a website at aftershockenergy.com. Not much else you can say about it since it is pretty much just a picture of the can and has no links. It has no product info or anything else really. Grade F for web presence. Why even bother. You put the web address on the can and then provide less information than the can has on it.
Recap:
Well this is the first time Dollar tree has let me down. I have had pretty good luck there so I will continue to check them out for bargain energy drinks despite this one slip up. The only Aftershock I got from this drink was the fact that I had wasted my dollar. Avoid this drink and choose one of the other bargain drinks that are out there.
