Ammo After Dark Low Carb
Ok so on to my second of the newly reformulated Ammo energy shots. After dark is the shot aimed at the late night party crowd. It contains some extra libido ingredients and is supposed to make a great mixer. I’ll be testing it as a mixer and spare you any sexual benefits.
Packaging: Once again Ammo comes in a 1 oz clear bottle with a nice little caffeine measure on the side and a cool lightning laced blue label. Really the design and fonts overall work great especially with an After Dark type drink. Grade A
Slogan: “Empower Yourself” is on the site and it is referring to the fact that you can measure out the amount of caffeine you want. Very well done. Grade B
Taste: Ok I had a few sips to check the flavor straight. It is drinkable but it is very concentrated. It is a very tart and sweet raspberry with little to no bitterness. Ammo is really made to mix. With this shot I chose to mix with vodka and make a Razztini. I mixed the Ammo with some good vodka and shook well before straining into a glass. I took a sip and it was great. The Ammo is strong enough to make a martini with the alcohol being barley there taste wise. The sweet and sour blue raspberry really blends well and makes for a sweet drink. I have to say as far as a mixer with alcohol goes this one is perfect for a martini or shot. Grade B for taste
Kick/Ingredients: Ok so considering it was mixed with alcohol I still got a great boost of energy. It was the afternoon on a weekend when I tried it and it really worked great. In a matter of 15 or 20 minutes from the time I finished my drink I was invigorated good. I found myself moving from what had appeared to be a lazy day just chillin at home to party mode. I was ready to get out of the house and get social. Really I was energized for a good 4 hours with no real crash. So Ammo After Dark is powered by 171 mg caffeine, Horny Goat Weed, Muira Puama, L-Arginine, and B12. It comes in with 25 calories, 8 grams of carbs, and 7 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with sugar and sucralose. I’ll give it a B for kick/ingredients.

Ok so I’m not saying you should mix alcohol with energy products but if you do then this is one you need to check out. I was amazed at the flavor and the kick it delivered and the fact it put me in a good mood. The size and the concentration of the shot make it really work well with a shot or a tini. I am sure it would work just as well mixed with like a sprite or club soda based drink as well. Of course the shot itself straight up is pretty good as well being sweet and sour with no aftertaste. No matter if you drink or not I think this shot is worth your attention.
