Ammo Full Force Citrus ice
Ammo is one of the first products I sampled when I started my site years ago. At the time they offered simple liquid shots for mixing that were only caffeine and sugar. Since then they have reformulated and are now offering their shots with different ingredients. The originals were good and I have high hope that these new shots will be even better.
Packaging: Ammo comes in a clear vial with a black screw on cap. The label has a cool green background filled with lightning. The font on the front looks really good and works well with the name. The cool part is that on one side is a little scale that lets you measure out how much caffeine you want to use. Very cool. Grade A
Slogan: “Empower Yourself” is on the site and it is referring to the fact that you can measure out the amount of caffeine you want. Very well done. Grade B
Taste: Ok so you are supposed to mix this with water or whatever you want. It mixes effortlessly unlike your typical energy powder. You can also drink it straight up. I tried some without mixing and it was pretty good being a super sweet lemon lime flavor with only a hint of bitterness at the end. This makes a good shot. I mixed it in a bottle of water and I found that if you use about 8 oz of water you end up with a nice green lemon lime beverage with just the right amount of sweetness. If you want more of a flavored water then us 16 oz of water. Plenty of options. . I found it to not be overly acidic for a lemon lime drink. Grade B for taste
Kick/Ingredients: If you drink the shot straight up it hits you hard and fast. I did this and I was pretty amped up in less than 15 minutes. I found my self to be animated and verbose along with a nice mood and focus enhancement. The energy was not super high but it was focused and smooth. It lasted a good 3 hours with no crash. When mixed I got the same thing except that it had a lower amount of energy but lasted longer at about 4 hours with no crash. Once again there are options here. This new ammo is loaded with 171 mg caffeine, Ginko Biloba, DMAE, Bacopin, Vinpocetin, phosphatidylserine, and B12. You get 25 calories, 8 grams of carbs, and 7 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with sugar and sucralose. Thos strange ingredients listed are all brain enhancing and very interesting. Grade B- for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: The website at drinkammo.com is way out of date and I am going to assume is in the process of being redesigned. There is no info on these new ingredients. Grade NA for now.
Recap:
The original Ammo was good and this one might even be better. The key to these drinks I think is the options it offers. You can measure out the amount of caffeine you want and you can mix it or drink it straight. These are the most mixable shots I have seen and they also work very well with alcohol (if you’re of age). I like the fact that this shot has added some cool and interesting brain enhancing ingredients. I’m really looking forward to trying the other shots now since they offer different ingredients as well. I think these shots are well worth you trying if you can get your hands on some.
