Ooh, and I burn
Fuel is pumping engines
Burnin' hard, loose and clean
Bio Fuel XL Popcorn

Just when you think you have seen it all along comes another unexpected product with added caffeine. Popcorn! Not just any popcorn though. This is extra caffeinated kettle style popcorn. This has been all over the news and internet and I have finally managed to get Bio Fuel to mail me a sample. Can’t wait to try it and see how it holds up to all the hype.
Packaging: Ok so this definitely has a grass roots small company look to it. That is a good thing though. I love the label with the retro Bio Fuel guy on it. It reminds me of a post apocalyptic world. Would be right at home in the video game Fallout. It may be simple but it works well and is a lot of fun. The only suggestion I would have is to maybe offer Bio Fuel in a collectible tin with the Bio Fuel Guy and logo on the front. I’d pay extra for that because I like this label that much. I also like the tab used to reseal the bag. It has their social network info on it. Grade A
Slogan: “It’s sweet and salty goodness” is on the label and it is not bad. I think there is room to improve though and get caffeine involved in that slogan somehow. Grade B
Taste: So I tore open the bag and of course got the wonder sweet kettle corn smell. I grab a handful and jam it in my mouth with anticipation. I am not let down. This is awesome stuff. You have the sweet taste of the sugar and brown sugar combined followed by the saltiness. It is a perfect blend of the flavors and there is zero caffeine taste in there. You will have a hard time stopping from eating the whole bag. I jammed handful after handful into my mouth until I caught sight of myself in a mirror with popcorn bits and salt covering my face. I finally forced my self to stop then but most of the bag was gone already. Grade A
Kick/Ingredients: Well I have to say I pretty much ate the entire bag in one sitting (I have no shame). It took about 20 minutes or so to hit me. It does not hit hard but you will suddenly realize you are wide awake and have a good caffeine buzz going. The good thing about a caffeinated food product like this is that while not intense it is long lasting. I feel I got a good solid 5 hours of energy and productivity out of this. There was no crash at the end just a gradual winding down. With Bio Fuel you get a nice slow burn that really delivers. There are 4.5 servings per bag but if you eat the entire bag you get a double dose of caffeine(about 2 cups of coffee worth so I’m guessing 240 to 300 mg). You also have 607 calories, 32 grams of fat, 18 grams of sugar, 81 grams of carbs, and 9 grams of fiber. I give this a solid B- for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: The site at biofuelfoods.com is not bad. There is some info along with a store and some links to reviews and news stories. I’d like to se nutritional info posted though(including actual caffeine amount) They also have a Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube. Grade B for web presence. The site is ok but then you add in the social media aspect and you have a really good presence. You can buy it on the official site or at kingofcaffeine.com
Recap:
Ok so you really have to get your hands on a few bags of this. It looks great and provides a long lasting smooth buzz. As for taste well you will probably be jamming this in your face repeatedly once you have the first taste. This is some tasty stuff. I don’t usually advocate jamming stuff in your mouth but I do this time. Really though this stuff will come in handy at work, at home, or even next time you get forced to go to a chick flick with your spouse or date. I mean if a movie with Jennifer Aniston is in your future you really need to sneak some Bio Fuel into the theater. Your date will be impressed as you stay awake the entire movie and clap vigorously at the ending.
