BLU energy drink sugar free
Well I thought the original full sugar version of Blu did a pretty good job at what it aimed to do. Be a better classic energy drink at a better price. Blu is a really big player outside of the USA selling over 100 million cans a year. They are just getting going in the USA where they are distributed by Rockitt imports. Let’s see Blu’s take on the classic sugar free energy drink
Packaging: Typical 8.4 oz slim can. The can is silver to indicate it’s the sugar free version. I really like the multi hued blue squares on the can and think it give this drink a fun kind of look. It is not overly cluttered with wording and looks like it would fit well at a party or club. My only complaint would be that the name BLU kind of blends in with the blue squares. I’ll give it a grade of B
Slogan: “Blu your mind” is one I found online and I like it. It is product specific and fun. It might be a bit silly but still I think it works well. Grade B
Taste: So I pop the top and I get the classic RB clone energy drink scent. I pour some in a glass and it comes out a golden color with a medium carbonation level. I take a sip and it is pretty much like the full sugar version. It has more of a candy like taste than your typical RB clone. I think this is more of a sugar free Rockstar clone and like the original that is a good thing. I really enjoyed the tart finish and it really did not taste a lot like a sugar free drink at all. There is no bitterness or aftertaste and it was not gummy at all. Grade B+
Kick/ingredients. I drank this can down and it went quickly. It took about 15 minutes and then I found my tiredness slip away and my mood was much improved. It was not a big buzz but it was a good one for a typical 8.4 oz drink. I got a good 3 or 4 hour buzz with no crash. I found this buzz to be just right and it allowed me to consume more than one can in a night. Each can is powered by 80 mg caffeine, 1000 mg Taurine, and some B vitamins. It comes with 0calories, 0 grams of sugar, and 0 grams of carbs. It is sweetened with saccharin, Ace K, and aspartame. Grade C for kick/ingredients
Web presence: Like I said before the site at blu4lifeusa.com is ok. It does not offer any real product info or a way to order. It is a nice flash site just not a lot of content. I hope they add some more content soon. This site has some potential. They also have a Facebook Grade C-

So once again I am pretty impressed with BLU. This sugar free delivers a great taste and the kind of buzz that many are used to. I enjoyed it both as an afternoon pick up as well as using it as a mixer for a party where it worked very well. I think you should give it a shot next time you are wanting that “classic energy drink buzz”. If you are planning a party I think a case of Blu would be a great thing to have on hand and would be sure to get the party going good.
