Crystal Light Energy Peach Mango
So I was at Walmart yesterday and I noticed a display for Crystal Light Energy. I had seen Crystal light On The Go Energy before but this is a little different. No “on the go” on the label and it is a flavor I had not seen before. To top it off the packaging was very different. For a 1.97 for the 5 pack I figured this needed to be checked out. Sure I consider Crystal light more of a woman’s or girly mans drink but the ingredients looked promising.
Packaging: So you start out with this little cardboard pouch. The pouch is flat and is kind of like a matchbook it the way it flips open. This little pack would slide easily into a pocket or purse and not take up much room. The front of the pouch prominently displays “Energy” and has a nice appealing peach and mango graphic. Inside are the usual little packets of Crystal Light which are really tiny as well. I really like the portability of this packaging and give it a grade of B Caffeine amount is clearly listed on the back which is a big plus.
Slogan: “Caffeine and Energy releasing B vitamins to help you feel energized” is the best I could come up with. Not really very good. Need to work on that one. Grade C-
Taste: So I opened the little foil pouch and dumped it into a bottle of water. It dissolved very well and I had a light peach colored liquid with a nice peach smell. I take a sip and it is a really sweet peach flavor up front followed by a hint of mango at the finish. There is not bitterness and it really does not taste that artificial. They really pack a lot of flavor in these pouches and it is very bold in taste. I give it a grade of B+ for taste. Probably of of the better mixes I have tried. Call me impressed.
Kick/Ingredients: So this drink went down smooth and fast and before I finished it I was feeling a really nice boost. I became quite talkative and a smidge jittery. I was feeling good and was actually looking forward to tackling the heavy workload I had for the night shift. This drink powered me through my first 3 to 4 hours and I finished my work more quickly than I was expecting to. This drink really delivers a strong buzz easily above your average 8.4 oz energy drink. There was no crash at the end. Crystal Light energy is fueled by 120 mg of Caffeine and B vitamins in the 20% range. That’s it. It comes in at 10 calories and no carbs or sugars. It is sweetened with Aspartame. I give it a grade of B- for kick/ingredient. Not long lasting but strong and smooth
Web Presence: I went to kraftbrands.com and could find nothing on this new packaging or flavor. I did find info on the wild strawberry flavor in the old packaging though so I could get ingredients info. Otherwise it is not a bad site but really was pretty useless. They do have a Facebook and a Twitter though so that is a plus. Grade C+

Ok so I am very impressed. This was a super tasty drink and it delivered a strong kick with its 120 mg of caffeine. I always thought Crystal light would be weak so I had never looked into trying their energy mix. That was my mistake. Don’t let it be yours or you will miss out. It is a really good bargain to boot coming in at under 2 bucks for 5 servings. 5 energy drinks for 2 dollars is well worth be thought of as a girly man if you happen to get caught by your buddies mixing one up. If you’re a woman try this for sure. If you’re a man get some too. I promise I won’t judge you.
