Dyna Pep Fresh Mint micro shot

I was pretty impressed with the original Dyna pep. It is one of the most portable and interesting energy products I have tried. The original flavor was ok but now they have come out with a new flavor and a new formula to boot. Mint is a flavor not often used in energy products so I am anxious to see how they pull it off.

Packaging: Dyna pep comes attached to a cardboard blister pack and the one I have contains 2 microshots. There is not enough room to print anything on the actual plastic ampoule. The ampoule itself is clear plastic with a little twist off lid kind of like something medicine would come in. On the cardboard you have “Dyna Pep” at the top in a wicked looking red font. Below the name is “Energy” Then it reads “10x the power” and “Up to 10 Hours”.  To the left of the ampoules is the flavor “fresh Mint” and to the right it reads “Time released”. The back has supplement facts. I think they do a top notch job for a blister pack and it is aggressive and informative. A- for packaging.

Slogan:  “10 Times the Power” really jumps out at you and is a bold claim that is sure to draw attention. I give them a grade of B for slogan.

Taste: Well the last flavor you could mix but I don’t really see that with this flavor. So I twist of the top and get a nice spearmint scent. Squeezing the ampoule into my mouth I get a nice sweet mint flavor up front followed by a slight bitterness. The bitterness fades quickly leaving you with a mellow mint aftertaste that is very pleasant. The mint is not supper strong but it is at a mid level. Really this is not a bad taste at all and fares better than a lot of full size shots I have tried. Taste B

Kick/Ingredients: Ok so after downing this microshot you are hit like a punch from Vintage Mike Tyson. These microshots hit fast and hard. In mere minutes I was full on buzzing like I had shot gunned a 16 oz energy drink. I am amazed at the quickness. To top that off the buzz is only slightly jittery and last a solid 5+ hours. I had this shot after a meal(fresh breath and staving off the after lunch slump). I easily made it through my work day and then proceeded to go home and work my but off doing some yard work. In the end there was really no crash to speak of and I was able to wind down in the evening with no problem. This shot is different from the original containing caffeine 80 mg, 2 amino 4 methylhexane hcl, Conjugated linoleic acid, Taurine, and Alpha Lipoic acid. This line up is very different than the original. There are 2 calories and no carbs or sugar. Grade B+

Web Presence: dynapep.com is a very professional site. It is easy to navigate and has a lot of content. There is plenty of multimedia content as well as info on ordering. Dyna Pep also sponsors a lot of events. Dyna Pep sponsors UFC fighter Rashad Evans who just won the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 92. Rashad is a big time MMA fighter and this is good for Dyna Pep. Dyna Pep also sponsors a tractor! That is a first I think but really what says power more than a tractor at a tractor pull! I will cut them some slack for the as seen on TV bit as I understand that even if cheesy it is very productive. Grade B for web presence.
