“When one has tasted watermelon he knows what the angels eat”
Euphoric watermelon/kiwi energy drink
This is the first of 6 flavors from a new company called Euphoric energy. This is a new company and I am reviewing their 8.4 oz sample cans. The final product will come in a 16oz can. I like the fact that I’m getting a chance to try these before they show up at your local store. I won’t be taking my own pictures this time since these are just samples and not the finished product.
Packaging: While the final product comes in a 16 oz can those were not available yet. I am trying the 8.4 oz sample can. It is your typical 8.4oz slim can. It has a nice label but is not a finished product. If the final product looks as nice as it does on their site it will score well in packaging but since I don’t have one in hand I’ll rate it when it becomes available. I’ll hold off on grading the packaging until that time. Grade NA (the photo left is a stock photo from Euphoric. I promise a new one as soon as I get a production can)
Slogans: “The future of Energy” is their slogan. I think this is a good one. That is the image they are going for. I’ll give them a grade of B- for slogan. Not something I’ll go around saying but it is better than your average slogan for energy drinks.
Taste ect: Well I was excited by the fact that they are starting out with 6 flavors. That is a bunch and bodes well I think since it gives you variety. This Watermelon/Kiwi was the one I wanted to try first. I pour it into a cup and it comes out looking like you would expect. It is a pinkish clear liquid with a medium carbonation. The smell is candy like and not your typical energy drink scent. I taste it and it is great. It tastes like watermelon candy. Think liquid Jolly rancher candy. Not super sweet and gummy but pretty sweet with a clean finish. The carbonation level works great with this flavor and it’s like a watermelon soda. I don’t really taste the Kiwi at all but I don’t taste the energy ingredients either. This drink went down pretty fast and I wished I had more. I’ll give them a grade of A for flavor. I like watermelon and they do a great job with this unique flavor. I don’t know of any other watermelon flavored energy drinks.
Kick/Ingredients: So you might wonder what is in this drink and does it have any kick. There is 70mg of caffeine, 600mg of Taurine, 25mg ginseng,80mg of inositol, 40mg Damiana leaf extract, 30mg Maca root extract, and 50mg of Suma root extract. Some interesting adaptogens in this mix. Not much else ingredient wise except flavor, carbonated water and some preservatives. It comes in at 110 calories and 26 gm of sugars. I have a midrange boost going within 20 minutes that lasted several hours and I was in a great mood. I’ll give it a B- for kick. Not super potent but smooth and mood enhancing with no crash really.
Web presence: Well Euphoric energy is a new company but they have a site at euphoricenergy.com. The site is pretty basic at the moment. It has an advertisement to start of that is nice. The look of the site is good. It has contact info, and about us section, and a product gallery. There is no ingredient information so I was disappointed about that. I’ll cut them some slack and consider it under construction. I give it a grade of C. Has potential but still needs work. There is hardly any other information on these drinks on the rest of the internet. They do have a myspace page though.
Recap:
This first Euphoric energy drink was pretty good. I think this is a company that has a shot with their great tasting drinks. If the other flavors are this good they are onto something good that sets them apart. Keep your eye out for these drinks and let me know what you think. I’ll be reviewing the other flavors soon.
