Full Power energy shot: Grape Explosion

This is one of those impulse buys you make at the check out counter. Sure there are tons of cheesy looking energy shots begging for your attention as you check out at your favorite convenience store. The Full Power shots really grab your attention though. Of course I want Full Power (who really wants half power anyway?). The design of this package alone is enough to make me take a second look and really I was hooked at that point.
Packaging: This is what first grabbed my attention. Full Power Grape Explosion comes in your typical 2 oz white plastic bottle. Then they up the ante with a cool purple shrink wrap. The Purple wrap is a really nice shade of purple and it has a darker purple tribal type pattern in the back ground. On the lid is an image of a bunch of grapes with some light beams emanating in the back of it like it’s exploding. The Name “Grape Explosion” is in front of the grapes in a yellow font. In the middle of the label is a cool Black tribal design that is kind of alien looking. Over the top of this is the name “Full Power” in a futuristic bold white font. Below the name is “Energy Shot” in yellow. Scattered below this is some of the benefits of the shot like “fast acting” ect. At the very bottom is the slogan in yellow”. The back has supplement facts. I really like the coloring and the tribal alien looking graphic. I also think the grapes graphic is a nice detail since the flavor is grape explosion. This whole package says power to me. No nice friendly grapes here. Grade B for packaging
Slogan: “Feel the Rush” is right there on the bottle which is a plus. Not really very original but it gets the message out there. Grade C for slogan
Taste: I like grape drinks so I am looking forward to this flavor. Twisting off the cap I get grape candy scent. I pour some in a cup and it is a nice translucent purple liquid. I am glad of this. Grape drinks and shots should be purple and definitely not brown like a lot of shots are. I take a sip and it is a nice light grape candy flavor. It is not a real sweet grape and does not overdo the artificial sweetener. I think there is just enough grape and sweetness to cover up the ingredients. There is only a tiny bit of aftertaste. I think they walked the fine line here and nailed it down. Not so sweet that you are left thirsty but just enough to keep away any bitterness. Grade B for taste
Kick/Ingredients: I drank this shot down and waited maybe 10 minutes until I could feel it kick in. I was not jittery but I will tell you that I was a Lot more alert. Next thing you know I went from the blah feeling of a first day of the work week to an excited energetic employee who was getting my work done and talking up a storm. I easily tore through the work day with loads of energy and a great mood. I would say I kept going a solid 5 hours with no crash at the end. I was surprised at the length of the smooth buzz I got. Full Power gets its power from 110mg of Caffeine, Glucuronolactone, N Acetyl L Tyrosine, L-phenylalanine, Taurine, Malic acid, and B Vitamins including 8333% of DV for B12, and 2000% DV for B6. They also include a typical 1 mg enzyme blend of Amylase, Protease, Lipase, Cellulase, and Lactase. There are zero calorie, carbs, or sugar. It is sweetened with only sucralose. Grade B for Kick/ingredients
Web Presence: Full Power energy shot has a website at fullpowerenergyshot.com that is fairly average. This is a small time company so they don’t have the cash to hire a big time professional developer. The site looks fine and has ingredients info as well as a Faq, contact information, and distributor information. I have seen worse for sure. I always cut slack to the small players out there and I will give it a grade of C for web presence. A store(even a paypal one would be nice).
Recap:
Full Power energy shot “Grape Explosion” is a good product I think many will enjoy. It has a nice taste that is not overly sweet or bitter and an above average kick. The packaging is pretty good and I like the flavors naming scheme. I am rooting for this company. They are as good as most of the big players and also they have 2 other flavors I will be reviewing soon. If you get a chance try this shot let me know what you think. I think it is a good solid entry in the shot market.
