Give Energy Mojito Grapefruit

Ok so I have had a Mojito flavored energy drink before (Ripit) and was not impressed at all. I am hoping for a better experience from Give. Will they be able to pull of a natural tasting Mojito flavor and provide a good kick? This is a drink that has a charitable goal much like the drinks from Live. Give promises that 10 cents from every can goes toward sustainable energy like wind and solar.
Packaging: Right out of the gate the folks at Give deliver with a really great looking can. It’s a 16 oz can that is white and lime green. The modern windmill on the front along with the lightning bolts, clouds, and sun are really sleek and artistic. I mean look at the photo I took of this can. It just does not do it justice. This to me is like art. Not sure who did the design but they did a great job. The can is not an aggressive design but it is one that fits very well with the Give sustainable energy theme. I give it a grade of A for packaging
Slogans: “Drink Alternatively. Live Sustainably.” Is right there on the can. While it may not be real energy oriented it is a nice one to go with the charity theme and should appeal to their market well. Grade B-
Taste ect: Ok so I pop the top and right away I get a real nice citrus scent. Pouring some in a cup it comes out almost perfectly clear with a medium level of carbonation. I take a sip think for a minute then have another. They nailed it! Really it has a nice citrus taste with a bit of grapefruit and it is followed by just a tiny hint of mint. The mint is not strong at all and is just a minor accent that really fits well with the citrus. The sweetness is on the low side and is very natural tasting and clean. This was an easy 16 ounces to drink. If you have never had a Mojito don’t let the mint scare you off. Really it blends so well with the citrus to make a unique and very tasty drink. Grade A- for taste.
Kick/Ingredients: Well I was not expecting this to be a real strong kick since mainly it contains various forms of natural caffeine. After drinking the whole can I was surprised to have a pretty strong buzz going. I was very alert and awake with no jitters. I found myself being very social and getting thing done quickly and with good focus. I’d say the buzz was on par easily with most 16 oz energy drinks from the big companies. The buzz lasted about 3 hours with no real crash at the end. So here is what’s in Give. An 810 mg blend of natural caffeine, Gotu kola leaf, Yerba Mate leaf extract, Guarana seed extract, Ginko Biloba leaf extract, rhodiola rosea root extract. Other than that there is only
water, pure cane sugar, natural flavor, and citric acid. That’s pretty much it. A little something for your brain and mood along with some natural caffeine. You get this with only 180 calories and 46 grams of sugars. Grade B for kick
Web presence: The website at drinkgive.com is a really super sharp website that much like the can. This site is eye candy for sure but it also contains good info on the company and the products it makes. It might not be the easiest to navigate but figuring it out is fun and the visuals are stunning. Very professional! Grade A for web presence.
Recap:
So I read somewhere the other day that I am a harsh reviewer giving most drinks no more than a grade of B. Well if C is average then B is not bad. This drink earned a couple of A’s and an A-. If you see and A or an A- in my reviews you know that it is top shelf. Really this drink has is great to look at, great to drink, provides a better than expected kick, and has a very nice website. If you can find Give Mojito Grapefruit in your area you really need to grab a can and give it a try.
