When I feel blue in the night

Good Night

I have held off on reviewing relaxation drinks for a while now. I thought they would be a fad but apparently they are here to stay. I know this is an energy drink site but I don’t think there are enough of these types of drinks to require their own review site. So here you have it. My first relaxation/anti-energy drinks review. I figure why not start off with a bang and do an import.

Packaging: It comes in the typical 8.4 oz (250 ml) can. Right out of the gate I am impressed. I have seen some of these types of drinks but this design really is one of the best.  It is relaxing just to look at. You know right away what the purpose of this drink is. It is to relax you and help you sleep. It is a simple design with the stars and moon on a really nice purplish background. Even the fonts used are relaxing. Grade A-

Slogan:  “Drink ‘N’ Dream” is right on the front and it works very well. Gets the message across in a simple manner. Grade B

Taste: So popping the top and get a nice sweet scent. Pouring some in a cup it comes out clear with a very very light carbonation. I take a sip and at first it is just a mildly sweet sugar taste but that is followed by a really delicate strawberry flavor. This all adds up to a good drink for before bed, low carbonation and not too sweet. There is no bitterness or after taste. It is just a clean clear taste. I give it a grade of B for taste

Relaxation/Ingredients: Ok so here we will be rating how relaxed it makes you feel.  When I work days I get up at 4am. So I need to get to bed early to get even a modest amount of sleep. I have a hard time going to bed early like I should. So I drank this drink about 8pm. It took about 30 minutes before I started feeling sleepy and relaxed. It was a gradual winding down. I was not super sleepy but It made me ready to go to bed and try and get some sleep. I got a good nights sleep and woke up fairly refreshed. This drink is made from pretty simple stuff including water, fructose, Lavendar, Rose Hips, and  melatonin. This comes with 72 calories and about 18 grams of sugars. Grade C for relaxation and ingredients

Web Presence: The site at taste-sensation.se is pretty much just one page. I’d like to see them flesh it out some and include ingredients info and such. For now it looks nice and has a listing of places the drink is available at. They do have a Facebook, and a store. Grade C

Recap:

Ok so I enjoyed this and plan on trying more of these types of drinks. This kind of drink can come in handy for things like flying long distances, general anxiety, getting a proper deep sleep, or getting to sleep quickly. It has a really nice light flavor that is god for before bed as well. If you think you need to have a relaxation drink then give this one a try.
