Hijinks
Well here is another cutting edge energy product. There are not many of these but I love energy products that are made to mix. When I say mix I don’t mean adding Red Bull to vodka. I mean mix with anything to turn it into an energy drink. This is the first on I have had that is more than just caffeine. Hijinks has all the usual ingredients found in an energy drink except it is in a clear liquid shot that is made to mix.
Packaging: I really like this package. I like that it is clear so you can see the liquid inside. The label itself is pretty sharp as well with it gold and silver trim. I like the little Hijinks logo with the crown. The purpose of this shot is clearly printed on the label as well as the caffeine content. Grade B+ for packaging. I think this package makes this mixer stand out well in a crowd.
Slogan: Right on the front of the label is “Mix Jinks in your drinks”. How can you not like that one? It rhymes and gets the message across that this shot is meant to be added to your favorite drink. Grade A
Taste: So this is a 1.1 oz shot that is meant to be mixed. The label says mix it or shoot it. Let me tell you. You can shoot it but it is pretty rough. The purpose of this shot is to be mixed without really altering whatever you’re drinking so they don’t really add any flavor. It is really too bitter to shot. Ok but as for a mix it is awesome. Since they sent me several I had a chance to try it several ways. Mixed in a cherry coke zero it did not noticeably change the taste at all. I tried it in a mug of hot chocolate and it worked great as well (ever had a hot cocoa with 200 mg of caffeine?). Mixed in a rum and coke it worked great as well. I’ll give it a grade of B for taste. Really as a mixer it is great. If you shoot it straight you are on your own though.
Kick/Ingredients: Each time I tried this shot in anything it kicked my ass. As a shot it hit me like a runaway locomotive slamming into me like a car stuck on the track. Picture a train pushing a car sideways down the tracks with sparks flying everywhere. As a mixer it made for a slower hitting but still very intense buzz. This stuff gets you to a high level buzz quickly with mild jitters and great mood enhancement. You will be buzzed strong for a solid four hours with little to no crash. This is not a mild buzz by any means so be prepared to do stuff and do it fast. Each 1.1 oz bottle is powered by an 1100 mg energy blend that contains 200 mg caffeine along with Taurine, Inositol, Glucuronlactone, and L carnatine. You get that with only 10 calories and 2 grams of sugars and carbs. It is sweetened with Sucrose. Grade A- for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: The site at hijinksenergy.com is pretty decent. It’s not a fancy flash site or anything but it looks pretty nice and has a lot of good info like advantages, conception, supplement facts, and more. I like the fact that you can find what you want to know quickly and easily. I am sure in time the site will grow since this is a very new product. I’ll give them a grade of C+ I think they need to get busy on the social media front though.

Well I have to say this is one awesome product. It is very mixable with most anything, looks cool, and kicks like hell. Why settle for your average energy drink cocktail when you can just add this to whatever you really want to drink. Like hot cocoa but find it does not do much to wake you up. Slam a bottle of Hijinks in it and it beats the living crap out of your morning coffee. Heck even if you are in a pinch and need big energy right now then bite the bullet and drink it as a shot. Sure the taste might be rough as a shot but you will soon forget that as you run headfirst through brick walls and toss cars around like the incredible hulk. (Running headfirst through brick wall not recommended). If you prefer a more subtle buzz(weak puny human) you could just mix half the shot in something even. Get this stuff when you see it. You will be glad you did.
