Jett Vodka infused with Caffeine, guarana, and ginseng!
Ok so for 2009 I am stepping out some. I plan on reviewing even a wider variety of caffeinated products. I’m starting it off with Jett Vodka. After doing some research on energized liquors I thought this was the best to start out with.
Packaging: Jett comes in a nice 750ml clear glass bottle. The bottle has a chrome lid. There is a grey printed on label around the top portion of the bottle with a black stripe in the middle. In the black portion the name “Jett” is in a bold white font with some little white lines leading into it and out of it. These represent speed to me and make for a really sharp logo. Below the name is “Vodka Infused with Caffeine, Guarana, Ginseng” in a red font. Below back in the grey section you read that it is a product of France and is 40% alcohol. It’s pretty minimalist and super clean over all. It has a nice sophisticated look that just says class. Grade A- for packaging
Slogan: “Prepare for Takeoff” Now that is the kind of slogan I like to see on an energy product. It lets you know it is powerful and it really ties in with the product name. This makes it unique to this drink. It is also short and catchy. Pretty much as good of a slogan as your going to find. Grade A
Taste: Well it bills itself as super premium vodka so I am looking forward to it. I like vodka and have tried a lot of different ones. I open the lid and take a smell to see what the scent is pretty neutral and not very strong at all. To me this is a sign of good premium vodka. I tried Jett several ways. Room temp straight up it is pretty drinkable with a slight astringent taste, some bitterness, some slight fruit hints and at the finish just a slight burn. These are minimal compared most of the vodkas I have tried. Chilled is the real way to drink vodka and Jett really is drinkable and fairly tasteless when chilled down to freezer levels or as a martini. Mixed with juice it is totally tasteless and makes for an awesome mixer. Surprisingly you can’t taste any of the Caffeine, Guarana, or Ginseng. I’m giving Jett a grade of A for taste(or lack of).
Kick/Ingredients: Ok so when you drink Jett you get a buzz and then you get a buzz. What I am saying is that you get the initial alcohol buzz but it you get a slight kick from the energy ingredients. Each time I drank Jett I got a buzz similar to if I had a red bull and vodka. I was able to prolong my night and the party. If you are used to drinking red bull and vodka then you will be familiar to this level of energy. So the buzz is on par but how are the ingredients? Jett is 5 times distilled using 100% French grains then triple filtered. They then add the purest forms of Caffeine, Brazilian Guarana, and Siberian Ginseng. The amount of caffeine in a 1.5 oz shot is list as about the same amount as a cup of coffee which should be around 40 or 50 mg. I give Jett a grade of A- for kick/ingredients.
Web Presence: You will find the site at drinkjett.com to be a pretty nice site that in design sticks with clean stylish look as the bottle Jett comes in. The site is mostly black with white font. It is smooth in its navigation and you can find all the info you need there like how the vodka is made, about the founder, where to buy, and a press section. While this site is not super flashy it gets the job done in a fast loading easy manner. This is after all a web site for Jett Vodka not Monster or Rockstar energy drink and the site fits well with the image. Grade B for web presence.
Recap:
I am not going to tell you I am a vodka expert but I am an experienced Vodka drinker and know what I like. Jett is a good premium Vodka and with the added ingredients you still only get the vodka taste. No need to add any flavors to this vodka to cover the energy ingredients. Not sure how they pulled that off. Maybe you don’t like Red Bull. Good luck finding any other energy drink at your favorite bar. Convince them to carry Jett Vodka though and you are no longer stuck drinking energy drinks and vodka and can just drink your favorite vodka mixed drink and still get the energy ingredients you want. Heck I prefer to just drink Jett chilled in a shot. Skip the bull blasters and just order a chilled Jett. Of course this is for those of drinking age only and as always drinks responsibly. Salute!
