Jolt Power Cola
Jolt is one of the originals when it comes to high caffeine drinks. For a while they had those big 24 oz battery style cans and I reviewed some of them. Then they fell on hard times. They got reorganized and are back with 4 drinks. Let’s check out the first one.
Packaging: Gone are the old giant cans. This can is a black 16 oz can. I think it also comes in a 12 oz can. The can is black with a big silver Jolt logo in the middle. There is some cool lightning and they have a tie in with the awesome TV show Breaking Bad listed at the bottom. While the can looks kind of low budget it is still not a bad design. Grade C+
Slogan: “Shock Your System” is on the can front and center and it works perfect for a beverage named Jolt. Grade B
Taste: Ok so I pop the top and get a nice cola scent. Pouring some in a glass it comes out like you expect a cola, brown and fizzy. I take a sip and it has a nice sharp cola taste. Initially it starts of being similar to Coke but as it warms up some and the fizz dies down its starts to swerve into Pepsi territory. Over all it is just a nice well done cola like you would expect from a company who has been making since 1986. There is no bitterness or aftertaste. Grade B
Kick/ingredients. So it was easy to drink at my desk as I surfed the net and hung out. About 15 minutes after I drank it I really started to get wired up. I had a good strong buzz with so jitters. I was all over the place multitasking and really giving my PC a workout keeping up with me. I would say I had a god 4 hours of strong energy with somewhat of a crash at the end. So this 16 oz Jolt Power Cola contains per can 186mg caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, and a fair dose of B6. It comes in at 200 calories, 52 grams of carbs, and 50 grams of sugar. It is sweetened with HFC. Pretty good buzz and I give it a B-
Web presence: The site at joltenergy.com is not what it once was but all things considered it is not bad. It gives you some product info along with a pretty interesting about section. No store at the moment though. They also have a Facebook but it seems to be a little out of date. That is too bad since they seem to have a lot of people interested in getting some Jolt. Grade C for web presence

I was happy to see this drink is re emerging and starting to get its distribution up. I know I will be rooting for them to make a big comeback. That said it is a nice drink if you are a cola fan and an energy drink fan. Not a lot of options out there as far as cola flavored energy drinks. I got a surprisingly good boost out of this drink. I can say if you see this you should grab a few. I think you will be happy. Did I mention this is an excellent mixer in place of your regular cola. Try it if you are of age.
