Plans for galactic domination

Killer Buzz energy drink   Sugar Free

Ok so here we have the sugar free version of killer Buzz. In case you did not know Killer Buzz has a 17 amino acid blend that mimics the Asian Giant Hornet. The Asian Giant Hornet is also lovingly referred to as the Yak killer hornet. This “Hornet juice” is supposed to have endurance functionality for humans. So this is supposed to give you long lasting energy.

Packaging: the 16 oz can is a nice glossy white can like the original version. In fact it is almost identical except the logo and name colors are swapped and there is a blue outline around the can. I like the logo a lot. It is a nice package that stands out well in the cooler. They also offer their drinks in an 8 oz can as well. Grade C+  One thing I’d like to see is better ingredients info on the label.

Slogan:  “Sustain the Buzz’ is the slogan on the can and I like it. It is brand specific and unique. It gets the idea across that the energy is long lasting. Grade B

Taste:  So I pop the top and get that classic energy drink smell. It is not too strong. I hate when you can smell an energy drink across the room and Killer buzz avoids that. I pour some in a cup and it is golden brown with a medium carbonation level. I take a sip and it is a mildly tart classic (RB) type of flavor. It is not gummy or too sweet though and has a kind of vanilla finish. The artificial sweeteners are done well and at a level where the drink does not taste very sugar free. There is no bitterness or after taste. Grade B-

Kick/ingredients.  I drank this with a good six hours left on my night shift. It is the holidays so things at my job a super slow which makes it hard to stay alert. The sting hit me pretty fast and in 15 minutes I was buzzing along pretty well. The buzz was not jitter or over the top but I was very alert and had a lot of energy. It got me on my feet an moving around. I had plenty of energy to get through the next 5 hours and was still able to sleep when I got home. There was no crash at all.  So what is in this drink?  200 mg Caffeine, 2000 mg Taurine, , Inositol, and a small dose of B vitamins, and the Giant Hornet amino acid blend which contains 17 different amino acids. You get this with 0 calories, 0 grams of carbs and 0 grams of sugar. It is sweetened Sucralose. Grade B- for kick/ingredients.

Web presence:  The site at killerbuzz.com is a fairly good site. It’s easy to navigate and provides some ingredients information along with photos, events, and more. It is a little out of date though. There is no store though and really not much content. They also have a Facebook but it could also use some attention. Grade is C- for web presence. They just need to give web presence a little more attention
Recap:

This is my second time to try Killer Buzz and I have to say they make a pretty good sugar free energy drink. It is very drinkable and goes down smooth. It provides a nice non jittery level of energy that should keep you going for a while and there is no crash with this sugar free version. I think with a little tweaking and some attention to the web they have a product that could make some waves. I like the option of 8 or 16 oz sizes. The 8 oz is perfect as a mixer and would work well in a bar or club setting. If you see this drink at your local store grab one and let me know what you think.
