Killer Buzz energy drink

You know it is not very often that I actually get my hands on an energy drink with something new in it. I was pretty excited to get my hands on this one for sure. Killer Buzz contains GHAA otherwise known as Giant Hornet Amino Acids. No they don’t actually grind up Giant Hornets and mix them in your drink (that would be cool though) but instead create the same amino acid combo as found in the secretions of the larvae of the Asian Giant Hornet. The adult Hornets live off of these secretions. The Asian Giant Hornet is also lovingly referred to as the Yak killer hornet. This “Hornet juice” is supposed to have endurance functionality for humans. So this is supposed to give you long lasting energy.

Packaging: Nice 16 oz can that is a gloss white on the front and lime green on the back. I like the green Killer Buzz logo on the front. Can’t really tell it is a KB but it looks cool. I think between the fonts used and the logo this is a pretty nice package. Grade B-

Slogan:  “Sustain the Buzz’ is the slogan on the can and I like it. It is brand specific and unique. It gets the idea across that the energy is long lasting. Grade B

Taste:  Popping the top I get the scent of classic energy drink. Pouring it in a cup it comes out a golden color with a medium carbonation. Tasting it comes across as a mix of RB and Monster. It is apply and sweet as well as having some citrus and candy in it. It is very tart and very drinkable with no after taste or bitterness. I could see me drinking this on a regular basis if it was available. Grade B- for taste

Kick/ingredients.  Ok so I been getting only 4 to 5 hours of sleep for like the last 7 days and I am hella tired today. I drink this entire can and waited. I got so alertness going and it woke me up a bit in about 15 minutes. It was a medium level boost with no jitters. I was not bouncing around or anything but I was awake and able to function at my normal level even though I was so sleep deprived. The buzz lasted about 3 hours and there was some crash at the end(to be expected in a full sugar drink). So what is in this drink?  200 mg Caffeine, 2000 mg Taurine, a small dose of B vitamins, and the Giant Hornet amino acid blend which contains 17 different amino acids. You get this with 230 calories, 55 grams of carbs and 54 grams of sugar. It is sweetened with sugar and dextrose. Grade C+ for kick/ingredients.

Web presence:  The site at killerbuzz.com is a fairly good site. It’s easy to navigate and provides good ingredients information along with photos, events, and more. There is no store though and really not much content. I like the ingredients info but overall the grade is C for web presence
Recap:

Ok so I did not get the “Sustained Buzz” this drink promises. I did get some energy though and it tasted pretty good. If I had more I would try this drink before a long bike ride to access its endurance properties. It a decent tasting energy drink in a nice looking can. It does contain the unique GHAA and that does not set it apart from your average energy drink. If you get the chance try a can and let me know what you think!
