Kronik Dragon Berry Protein energy drink
Ok I am really happy to get my hands on the new line up of Kronik energy drinks. I have them in advance of everyone so I’ll be reviewing them all in the next week. I have always enjoyed Kronik drinks and I have been able to find them easily so that made them one of my go to drinks. The drinks in the new line up are Protein Energy drinks. This seems to be one of the new routes that energy drinks are going in. Whey up was first then Boo Koo Burners came out. Now Kronik has thrown their hat into the ring. I know the folks at Kronik put a lot of time and effort into developing these new drinks so I have high hopes. I’ll start out with the Dragon Berry drink first then in the next few days I will review the rest.
Packaging: Right at the bell Kronik comes out swinging with a really tough looking can. It’s a 16 oz aluminum can that is gold on top. The can is black at the top where it reads “Powerful Hybrid Dragon Berry Protein Energy Supplement” This is in a red font except for the flavor which is in a white font. Below this is a band of gold barbwire that separates the black top from the rest of the can which is a red granite type colored background. The name “Kronik” is in an edgy looking gold font followed by “Protein Energy” which is in the middle and looks like it was stamped on. Below that is a large gold barb graphic. There is also a little “Contains Omega 3” logo. At the bottom is the slogan in white font as well as “Zero Carbonation”. Then at the very bottom is another strand of gold barb wire. On the back are supplement facts as well as a cool little blurb about the drink. I will give them a solid A for packaging. The can is aggressive and I like the fonts used as well as all the info. You know what your getting when you buy this.
Slogan: Kronik always has cool slogans on their cans and this one is no exception. “Caution: Power Too Sick for Science” This slogan just flat out kicks ass. The slogan works well with the packaging. Grade A+
Taste: Protein energy drinks are best chilled down very cold so I got this one good and cold. I open the can and there is a berry scent. I pour some in a glass and it comes out a strawberry red cloudy color with no carbonation. Taking a sip I get a sweet strawberry flavor followed by some mango followed by more strawberry or maybe dragon berry which is supposed to be like strawberry in flavor. There is also the flavor of the protein which has kind of a yogurt taste that goes well with the other flavors and lends a richness not found often in energy drinks. It’s kind of like a strawberry mango smoothie and who wouldn’t like that! I have to say this was a great tasting drink with no aftertaste. I give them a grade of A for taste. Very enjoyable
Kick/Ingredients: I drank is slowly and enjoyed it over about a 20 minute period. Before I had even finished it I was fired up with intense energy. I felt as if I could get in the ring for some intense UFC fighting. It was an aggressive burst of energy I had that demanded me to do something physical. The energy lasted me a good 5+ hours and really I spent most of that time on my feet getting things done. I did a quick workout then took care of other business I had been putting off. I was mildly jittery and had a slight crash as expected from a drink that is not sugar free. So let’s get to the ingredients since this is not your typical drink. 160 mg of caffeine, 2000 mg Taurine, and B vitamins provide the bulk of energy along with the 56 grams of carbs and sugar(real sugar not HFCS!). Then you get so good healthy stuff like Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9 all from cranberry seed oil, 64 mg of calcium, 10 grams of protein. Omegas are good for your heart, calcium is good for your bones, and protein is good for building muscle and suppressing hunger. All I can say is awesome. Grade A for kick
Web Presence: Kronik has a really nice site at kronikenergy.com. The site is well laid out and easy to navigate. It has a nice clean look and feel to it. There is tons of content there like ingredients info, a store, athletes and bands they sponsor, downloads, photos, and more. They even have a Kronik radio you can listen too that plays songs from their bands! Everything is up to date as well. No coming soon or old events like so many sites have. The site fits well with the image Kronik has. They have a really good myspace as well at myspace.com/kronikenergydrink that they keep up to date with blogs by athletes they sponsor and even some kronik myspace layouts. No info on the Protein drinks yet but I’m sure as soon as they hit the market they will update the site. Grade A for web presence

Wow this is definitely going into my top ten list if I ever make one. Cool packaging, awesome slogan, great unique taste, intense powerful energy, healthy ingredients, and a nice web presence. Make sure you start looking for these drinks at your local store. For a pre workout drink, pre event drink, or maybe if you’re skipping lunch this will fill in nicely to power you through the rest of the day with no hunger and plenty of energy. Be prepared though because this is potent and you will be wanting to do something intense and action packed.
