Mamajuana Virility/Energy shot
Well this one came out with a bang(no pun intended). John Layfield is the man behind this drink. Who is john Layfield you ask? Well he is a champion professional wrestler but he is more than that. Check out his wiki page and you will see. He is popular and he is a keen business man. I’m looking forward to trying this drink because I know this is just not some celebrity slapping his name on a product.
Packaging: Right off the bat you have to like this 2oz shot bottle. It really stands out from your typical shot type container. It looks like a miniature rum bottle. It is kind of like one of those mini bottles you might get on an airplane. It is dark brown with a black screw on cap. On the front is a tropical scene of a palm tree and an ocean sunset framed in a ships porthole. At the top of the image is a ribbon with “Health and Virility” written in it. Below the image is the name”Mamajuana Energy” and a tiny website address. There is also this statement “Inspired by the treasured Dominican elixir” and a small caffeine warning. On the back is your ingredients list. I have to give this package a grade of B+ It sets itself apart from other shots and grabs you attention. The tropical theme is well presented and should attract the market they are looking for.
Slogans: Not much of a slogan from what I can find. I guess you could go with “Health & Virility” on the front of the bottle. It gets the message out but is nothing special. I will give it a grade of C.
Taste ect: When I open the twist of cap the smell is unusual. I don’t really detect any vitamin smell or a lot of sweetness. It’s a pleasant scent but I can really pin down exactly what it is. I poured mine in a shot glass so I could get a good look at it. It is a strawberry brownish color with no carbonation. I take a sip and it taste pretty good so I toss the whole thing back. I tried this drink twice and I think it taste better out of a shot glass. The flavor is a nice berry flavor with a bit of cherry at the finish. I tasted no bitterness and the aftertaste was pleasant. I will give it a grade of B+ for flavor as I really enjoyed it and it one of the better flavored shots I have tried.
Kick/Ingredients Ok here is the part that really matters. Does it give you energy? This is being pushed more a virility shot than just an energy shot. It is supposed to give you energy in the bedroom. I am going to have to plead the 5th here as far as details go. I will tell you that it gives you plenty of energy for whatever physical activities you are doing including behind closed doors! The kick last for several hours and there is no crash! The ingredients are top notch. There is an energy blend with 200mg of Caffeine, Taurine, Glucuronlactone, Malic Acid, L-Phenylalanine, N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, and B-12. Then you have your Sexual Performance Blend with maca, hawthorn berry, Muira Puama, Horny Goat Weed, Anamu, Eleuthero, and green tea. Man they jam a lot of ingredients in this little bottle. I bet John had to use a JBL Bomb on these to get them to all fit in! All this aside I think you can use Mamajuana just for the energy or for virility and energy. I will give it a grade of A- this is one strong shot!
Web presence: They did not skimp on the website at mamajuanaenergy.com. They have a nice fun website with a great tropical theme. It is well laid(no pun intended) out and very professional looking. There is plenty of ingredient information, Video Clips(including the lovely Minerva!), Press releases, a store, testimonials , and more. It was a lot of fun poke around on(no pun intended). I am going to give them a Grade of B for web presence. They have a nice site and plenty of hits on Google.

Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a gimmick by a wrestler. Mamajuana is a serious energy/Virility shot. There was a lot of effort put into this product. It is potent with quality ingredients and a good taste. They say it is for the bedroom but I think it holds its own anywhere. Give it a try and see for yourself. Won’t your wife or girlfriend be impressed when you pull of some acrobatic moves in the bedroom after downing your Mamajuana. Even if you don’t “go off the top rope” you definitely won’t fall asleep!
