MC2 Coffee energy
I love it when I get a chance to try a drink before it hits the market. It is one of the perks I get as an energy drink reviewer. I see more and more coffee based drinks coming out now days. I guess it is because a lot of people like coffee and associate it with energy and also a lot of people don’t like energy drinks and their taste.
Packaging: The package I got is a 16 oz plastic bottle. The bottle has a paper label on the front with a parrot and also an image of some scoops of coffee beans. The name “MC2 Energy drink” is in a brown oval in the middle of the label as well as the flavor “Coffee”. At the bottom it reads “Made from Organic Liquid Brazilian Coffee”. The back has nutrition info. It is a nice idea and I think when it is polished up for final release this label will work well. Until that time I will give in a grade of NA.
Slogans: No slogan to be found. Closest I could come up with is that they call MC2 drinks “An eye opening liquid Power bar” Interesting I have to say but not much of a slogan. Grade D for slogan
Taste ect: Ok the drink itself is a nice light coffee color. I twist off the lid and it smells like a sweet coffee. I pour with a very light level of carbonation. I take a sip and it taste like a pretty sweet coffee. It is not a strong dark coffee but is light with no bitterness. There is no cream or milk in this coffee yet some how it has a creamy taste to it. I guess you could call it silky. There is none of the usual coffee bitterness at all here. This is one of the smoothest coffee flavors I have tried and totally unique. It was very easy to drink and quite enjoyable. Grade B for taste
Kick/Ingredients: Ok so I drank the bottle down and was hit with a wave of smooth and only mildly jittery energy in about 10 to 15 minutes. I was hitting the wall before I had this drink but after finishing it the wall came tumbling down and I was on my way again. The energy easily was better than just a cup of coffee and had me alert and animated for a good 4 hours with no crash at the end. So what is in this Coffee energy drink? 240 mg caffeine, 2000 mg Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, 100 mg Inositol, and B vitamins. It comes in at 220 calories, 56 grams of carbs, and 54 grams of sugars. It is sweetened with HFC and Sugar. The main base for this drink is Organic Liquid Brazilian Coffee. I’ll give it a solid B for kick/ingredients
Web presence: The official site is mc2energydrink.com and it does not look bad with it’s Einstein characters and layout. There are some press releases and an about us section that are working but the rest of the site is not functioning. It looks like it might have potential but someone needs to work on it. Grade D+ for web presence.
Recap:
This is a preliminary sample but it does perform well in the areas that count like Taste and Kick. It needs a little polish but I think it is a very unique drink. It has me interested in looking into more info on this liquid Brazilian coffee with it’s silky non bitter taste. Once this hits the shelf It is definitely worth trying if you find it. It packs a good punch with a unique taste you will want to try.
