Monster Nitrous Killer B
When I wrote this review it was the original Killer-B. Since then the drink has been pulled from shelves and reformulated flavor wise. I am updating this review to reflect the new flavor.
Ok this is the second of the new Nitrous drinks I am reviewing from Monster. I am still a bit confused. On the can it reads that these drinks are carbonated with nitrous oxide and Carbon Dioxide. In the ingredients list it says it contains Nitrogenated water. So is it Nitrous or Nitrogen? Either way I am excited to be tring these new drinks
Packaging: This one comes in the 12 oz resealable batter type can. It’s a really nice can with cool fonts and a nice orange yellow honeycomb pattern in the background. The pattern works well with the name and the font used in the “Nitrous” portion is very cool. Grade A- for packaging. I like these little cans fro their shape and their aggressive look.
Slogans: “Unleash the Nitrous Beast” Is the same on all the nitrous cans and I really like it. Nice job monster. Grade A-
Taste ect: Updated with new formulation. The one you will find now is this new formulation
New Formulation: Ok so I am hoping they did not mess it up. Right away I notice the scent is more citrus. Pouring some in a cup it is missing the foamy head the original formula had. Taking a sip I get a really tart lemon citrus with followed by some honey at the finish. The aftertaste is all lemon and very tart with the foaminess of the nitrous drinks lingering. Man the F@cked it up. They had a good flavor before but there is too much citrus here now and the honey takes a backseat. They had a unique taste now it is just not real good too typical. Grade D
Old formulation: I pop the top not knowing what to expect. Right away I get a really unique scent. Then it hits me. Honey! I pour some in a cup and it comes out a golden yellow brown color that looks a lot like honey. Of course the Nitrous gives it a big foamy head. I take a sip and it really taste like a creamy honey flavored drink. At the finish there is some lemon/citrus but not enough to be sour or tart. Just enough to take the edge off of the sweetness. This drink is not only creamy and foamy but the liquid itself is pretty thick which works pretty well with the nitrous carbonation. This is one of the most unique energy drink flavors I have ever tried and I really like it. I give it a grade of A for taste.
Kick/Ingredients: I drank it down and in the usual 15 minutes or so I got a really strong buzz going. I was really energized and animated and a bit jittery. It was one of those kind of buzzes that compels you to get up and do stuff. I was easily cruising at top speed like this for a solid 4 to 5 hours with just a slight crash at the end. As with the other Monster Nitrous drinks. The “Blend” for energy is 5000mg which is the same as in a 16 oz Monster. The ingredients differ a little though with 2000 mg of Taurine, 400 mg Ginseng, and 200% of your dv for B2, B3, B6, B12. The “energy blend” of Glucose, L-Carnitine, Caffeine, Inositol, Guarana, Glucuronolactone, maltodextrin. Then Monster kicks it up with Bee pollen and Royal Jelly. Xxxxxxx

Web presence: monsterenergy.com is a great and entertaining website filled with tons of content. You can waste a lot of time poking around there. You won’t find a lot of ingredient and product info but there is plenty of media, a store, contest, and of course extreme sports. There is no info on their website about any of these new Nitrous drinks yet. Grade A-

Wow I love how Monster has really stepped out and did more than just make a new flavor. They created a unique carbonation method that really gives this drink a unique feel and texture. They did not stop there though. They added some new ingredients to this drink that are not in their other drinks. Then the icing on the cake was a really great and unique taste. I really think there is no other drink with this flavor profile. I HIGHLY suggest you give this a try. Maybe it won’t be your cup of tea but you at least need to experience it. If I had heard about the flavor I might have balked or had low expectations. I am glad I went into it blind because I really enjoyed this flavor and I will be buying this drink again. Once again I have to say the new formula was a let down and I'd go with a different monster flavor. Wish I would have bought a case of the old stuff :(
