Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry

Monster Nitrous Super Dry

Ok this is the final review of the new Nitrous line from Monster. Super Dry is the name and I have no idea what it is supposed to be. I have had energy drinks I considered to be dry but I really don’t think that is a popular thing for most energy drinkers. So far I have been impressed with the other 3 flavors of nitrous so I have high hopes for this one.

Packaging: This time  it is still the cool little 12 oz  resealable battery can but it’s coloring is more in line with Monster original.  I really like the green crackle pattern in the background with the big black M in the middle. Classic Monster all the way. Grade A- for packaging. Really what more can I say except they did a good job.

Slogans:  “Unleash the Nitrous Beast” Is the same on all the nitrous cans and I really like it. Nice job monster. Grade A-

Taste ect:  Once again I am in the dark as for what to expect. It’s green so I assume maybe original Monster except carbonated with Nitrous?  As soon as I pop the I know I’m wrong as I am hit with a pungent sour lime scent. Pouring some in a cup it comes out a very bright green color. This time it does not have the foamy head like the other Nitrous drinks. I take a sip and it is a really sweet and sour lime flavor. The mouth feel is not as thick and it lacks the unique creaminess of the other flavors. The strong lime flavor lingers long after the drink is gone. There is no other after taste. I give it a grade of C- for taste. If you like really limey drinks though it might be something you would like.

Kick/Ingredients:  Ok so after drinking it down quickly because I wanted to get it finished. I was hit with a pretty good buzz. I was full of energy and slightly jittery. This was a good strong buzz just like the other Monster nitrous drinks. It really had me going strong for 4 to 5 hours with only a slight crash. As I said before the level of buzz is on par with the larger 16 oz Monster drinks even though this drink is only 12 oz. Ingredients in this one are identical to Nitrous Anti Gravity with 2000 mg of Taurine, 400 mg Ginseng, and 200% of your dv for B2, B3, B6, B12. The “energy blend” of Glucose, L-Carnitine, Caffeine, Inositol, Guarana, Glucuronolactone, maltodextrin, and yerba mate. Grade B+ for kick/ingredients.

Web presence:  monsterenergy.com still has no info up about these drinks but I expect sme soon. It is a great and entertaining website though with a lot to look at and do. You won’t find a lot of ingredient and product info but there is plenty of media, a store, contest, and of course extreme sports. Monster puts a lot into their online presence.  Grade A-

Recap:

Ok so I am Monstered out after drinking all 3 of these new drinks in the last 3 days. I usually like to mix it up a bit with different brands and types of caffeinated products. The good thing was that even thought they are all Monster drinks they really had a lot of difference between them. I will say that this Super Dry flavor was my least favorite of the 3 Nitrous drinks. It really was the closest to just a regular energy drink with the Nitrous carbonation really not working as well as it did with the other drinks. If you really like lime though you should try it. Just don’t expect it to be as ground breaking as the other 2 flavors.
