Throwin the devil horns

Monster BFC Heavy Metal (2 more photos below after review)
Maybe you have and maybe you haven’t heard but Monster ED comes in a 32 oz can. They call the can the BFC which you know means Big Fu%$in Can. This is just a huge can of typical Monster Energy drink. Then the other day I noticed the BFC Heavy Metal. It is still a huge can but the Graphics are different and so is the drink. I did not review the regular BFC because it is just Monster in a big can. I knew for sure everyone would want to know about the Monster Heavy Metal flavored BFC though.

Packaging: Monster BFC Heavy Metal comes in the huge ass 32 oz aluminum can. It is awesome I must say and if you hold it in your hand and walk around it will freak people out its huge and impressive (if I had a dime for every time I heard that J.) The graphics include the typical Monster M logo in silver on a dark green background at the top portion of the can. On the lower portion is a festival concert type crowd. It’s more of a shadow crowd and there are several larger arms in the air throwin the ubiquitous heavy metal devil horns like you see at concerts(not just heavy metal concerts anymore hell they probably throw the devil horns at a Sting concert now). There is also a black shadow figure playing a guitar. The scene is repeated on the can on 2 sides. Nice can really. I won’t say the image blows me away and with all that space to work with they could have not repeated the image and gave even more to look at. The can is so awesome in size though that I have to give it an A for packaging.

Slogans:  The regular Monster BFC has some cool slogan type stuff on the side but the Heavy Metal version has none. Too bad because there is much potential for this and I’m sure they could of come up with something cool. I give them a D for slogan

Taste ect: I’m always pretty eager to try any new flavors from one of the big 3. I hear this is a limited run and might not stick so I’m grabbing the chance to see what it’s all about. I open the can and the smell is different than a regular monster for sure. I can’t really figure out what it smells like except it does not smell typical. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a cloudy green with plenty of carbonation. I slam the entire can at once! No not really lol that would be too much. I will share this on since it is like 4 servings. I taste some and I think grapefruit! Some others disagree with me on this one. Then another guy says Fresca! That’s it! It tastes like Fresca. Grapefruit/citrus is the flavor I would call it. It is not a very sweet flavor at all and it is a little bitter at the finish. I enjoyed it because it is not overly sweet but others who tried it with me did not like it. I don’t see this flavor catching on at all. Not sure what the market is that they are trying capture with this flavor either but it surely is not the typical Monster drinker. I give them a D for taste. I’d give it a see but 3 out of 4 of us said it was very bad.

Kick/Ingredients: This is pretty much your typical Monster Energy drink with the exact same ingredients profile as regular Monster. Calories 100; total carbs 27g; sugars 27g; vitamin c 60mg; riboflavin 1.7mg; niacin 20mg; vitamin b6 2mg; vitamin b12 6mcg; sodium 180mg; taurine 1000mg; panax-ginseng 200mg; energy blend 2500mg  80 of the “blend” being caffeine. Your not supposed to drink the whole can but you could and survive since I’ve had drinks with this much caffeine in them. I would not recommend drinking the whole thing though. I drank half of the can and I got a nice little buzz. I’ll give it a C+ for kick since it is just typical. I was juiced up enough to want to crank up some Unearth or some Avenged sevenfold and I did feel the urge throw the horns a few times.

Web presence:  Well it is Monster so you know they are all over the place. The thing is there is virtually no information about this drink to be found. I think this is the first real review of this flavor (this sucks! Does not count as a review) and one of the few photos as well. I give it a D for web presence. This is a mystery drink will little info to be found.

Recap:

Monster Energy BFC Heavy Metal has great potential. It’s Monster, it comes in the cool BFC can but it suffers from bad taste and no information. I think it will be highly collectable in the future though so I’m grabbing me a few extra cans. You should still give a try though just to say you did. More photos below
