Java Monster Chai Hai
Continuing on with my reviews of the Java Monsters and I thought I’d break from the coffee and got with the tea. Chai tea is not something I have had before so this should be interesting
Packaging: Well it is the typical 16oz Monster energy drink can. Unlike the Russian the Chai Hai sticks with the familiar Java Monster Wood grain. It is a light colored can almost identical to the Mean Bean can just a shade lighter. It has the familiar Monster M in gold, some decorations around the top of the can, and Java Monster in brown and gold. I will give it a C for packaging. Does not really stand out from the other Java monsters which I think it should since it is Tea.
Slogans: Well it says Tea + Energy which does make sense but still is not really a slogan. It has a paragraph on the back of the can which is kind of cool. Highlights of this are “Hell Yes Monster can do tea. And the phrase “Chai Hai is more like the Tea guards drink in Turkish prison. Tea with sack not bags.” Nice paragraph but it still gets a C- for slogan.
Taste ect: Well I did not know what to expect really. I opened the can and the scent was familiar. I poured some into a cup and it was a very light milky color. It is very thick and kind of lumpy? Not real appealing looks wise. I take a sip and it is very sweet and spiced. I drink more and more and it finally hits me. Eggnog! It taste like Eggnog. I enjoy eggnog so this is not a bad thing for me really. Chai Tea is supposed to have similar spices so that explains it. Pumpkin pie spice is another thing that came to mind. Think Cinnamon, Cloves, and nutmeg. I will have to give it a C for taste though. It’s lumpy and way too sweet for me. They need to find a way to blend it better.
Kick/Ingredients: The ingredients are water, Reduced fat milk, sucrose, glucose, taurine(2000mg),and Tea solids and the usual Monster energy blend of L-carnitine, caffeine(160mg), guarana, glucose, inositol, maltodextrin, and glucuronalactone. There are plenty of B vitamins as well as some vitamin C, A, D, and calcium. The kick was good and lasted several hours. It has 180 calories and 3 grams of fat. It has a little less sugar (26 grams) than the Russian(28) so the crash was a little less hard. I will give them a B for kick. Monster drinks are pretty much all the same energy ingredient wise so it is typical of Monster drinks but better than average.
Web presence: Once again not really any info on these new java drink(except here at edjunkie! monsterenergy.com of course and Google has tons of hits for monster drinks. Lucky for you I’m getting this info out there. I’ll give them a grade of D for web presence. Like I said before it would be an F but I figure in the future they might get more information up.

Well this is my second of the new Java Monster flavors. I think I might have to take a break after one more. These are just so thick and creamy that it is more than I can stomach. It’s like energy dessert and the flavor last and last. Let me know what you think when you try these.
