NOS Charged Citrus
So I had heard NOS had some new flavors in the works. They snuck up on me though. I had not heard anything in a while then one day my friend Josh pointed out that Caffeineking had a review up already of Charged Citrus. I jumped up from my PC and headed quickly out the door to scour my favorite drink spots in search of this drink. 3 speeding tickets and one assault charge (never get between me and the drink cooler) later and I had my hands on one.
Packaging: While NOS bottles have always been the bomb Nos cans usually don’t impress me a lot. This one is the typical 16 oz can but it comes in a really nice green color. I love green and this one really jumps out at you in the cooler. It has a shade that sets it apart from other drinks. The NOS logo in white really pops out on the metallic green can. Not sure the “Enhanced Mental Focus” on the front at the top really works though. When I think of NOS I think of speed not focus. Overall pretty good though. Grade B+
Slogan: “High Performance energy drink” is the only thing I could find. Still it’s a pretty good one that fits with the whole NOS and racing theme. Grade B
Taste: So right after I open this drink I am hit with the smell of burning rubber! Not really lol. It is actually has a sweet lime scent. I pour some in a cup and it comes out a bright lime green color with a heavy carbonation. I take a sip and up front it is all lime but then drafting closely behind is some lemon. In the far turn the Lime and Lemon bump a little and the Lemon crashes into the wall bursting into flames as the Lime pulls away to take the checkered flag. Despite the incident there is no bitterness or aftertaste. It is ice and sweet and actually reminds me up a pumped up Sprite or 7 Up. Grade B
Kick/Ingredients: So I rolled into work an hour early as a favor to a co worker(what the hell was I thinking since I hade to leave the house at 3 am!). I arrived at work and I was surely slow getting off the line. I needed a boost or I was going to come in last. I slammed this drink down like a guy hiting the Nitrous down the stretch. In minutes I was rocketing down the straights away barely in control. I blew by the competition/co workers. I was on fire. This was one of those crazy jittery out of control burst of energy. I went like this a good 3 hours before my engine blew and I crashed in a glorious ball of fire. Nos is powered by per can 260 mg caffeine , 2000 mg Taurine, L theanine , and a good dose of B vitamins. It comes in at 200 calories, and 54 grams of carbs and 52 grams sugars. It is sweetened with HFC and sucralose. Like in Nos loaded Cherry they got rid of the inositol and L carnitine for some reason? Grade B+ for kick/ingredients
Web Presence: The website at drinknos.com used to be a great site. Now it is just all about racing and cars with little to nothing else. I could not find ingredients info for any drinks. I really don’t care for the blog method they use either. There is also a Facebook . I give them a grade of C+ for web presence. Really if you are not into car racing the site offers little for you.

So this is one of the better NOS drinks I have had. Taste wise it is the most soda like with a nice lemon lime. They pack in a lot of caffeine for the kick. You really get revved up on this drink but you pay later with a crash. I was disappointed with the turn the website has taken. Overall I can recommend this drink.
