Who's gonna ring your little bell?

Power Trip Mango energy shot

Ok so here we have another shot. This time it is from Power Trip and it is mango flavored. I love mango and think there should be more shots this flavor. I’m really looking forward to trying this one.

Packaging: Ok so right off Power trip has done the right thing by making the bottle in a different shape and size. They are using a contoured 2.5 oz plastic shot bottle. It’s got a curvy sexy look to it. The label is orange and has the flavor clearly printed in on the cap. The Power Trip logo is present along with a check list of benefits. It is all at once slightly aggressive and yet sophisticated enough for a more mature consumer. Grade B

Slogan: “Vitamin Powered” is in a little logo on the front and I think it works much better with this shot than it does with their drinks (see kick/ingredients.) Grade B-

Taste: Twisting off the top I get a really nice mango scent. It smells delicious with no hint of vitamin smell. The liquid itself is a nice translucent orange color as it should be. Taking a sip I get a very sweet mango candy flavor and at the finish it is really tart and tangy. There is zero aftertastes.  If there was a Mango flavored jolly Rancher it would taste like this. Its pure mango with no orange or other flavors mixed in. Truly this is one of the best tasting shots I have ever tried. To me it did not even taste overly artificial even though it is sweetened artificially. Grade A+ for taste

Kick/Ingredients: Ok so I drank down the shot like you are supposed to. It’s a little larger than your average shot so it took a couple of gulps. In the first 15 minutes I got a nice boost. I’d say it was a boost on par with a 5 hour energy shot. The thing was though that after a couple of hours I was still going strong and a second wave of energy kicked in that was better than the original boost. This was really nice and I had been feeling a bit under the weather most of the day and now I was feeling way better and had some great focus along with a positive mood to top it off. This second wave got me to my most productive part of the day. The buzz lasted a solid 4 to 5 hours with no crash. So here is what’s in it. 100 mg Caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana, Glucuronolactone, Tyrosine, and L- Phenylalanine. Then you get to the Vitamin powered part which has 10,667% Dv of B12, 3100% Dv B6, good doses of your other B vitamins, and 250% Dv vitamin C. Then to top all that off is the 1.25 mg(more than most shots have) enzyme blend of Amylase, Protease, Lipase, Cellulase, and Lactase. There are no calories or carbs. It is sweetened with sucralose. Grade B+ for kick/ingredients

Web Presence:  powertripbev.com is a pretty nice site. They pretty much have all the bases covered with plenty of info, a store, sports, events, and more. This site has the look and feel of the big boys in the market. Check it out. It is top shelf in my book with a nice easy flow. Grade B

Recap:

You know this worked out much better than I expected. The taste was awesome and the kick was smooth powerful and long lasting. Whoever formulated this shot really did a great job. I think this shot will appeal to many market segments with its looks, taste, and kick/ingredients.  I think they have set themselves up for success by appealing to a wide market. Give it a try. I can’t wait to try the other flavors.

I got this shot from the company
