Red Rain is coming down

Red Rain Diet!
So I thought I need a slight boost today. I did not want a big burst of energy or calories so I grabbed a Red Rain Diet. Not a slam on the drink but it is not super potent. Red Rain is mainly a Canadian drink but you can find it at a lot of Walmart stores for a bargain price in 6 packs.

Packaging: Well it comes in a 12 oz slim can. The can is silver with Red Rain and Diet in big letters so you know it is a Diet Red rain. It also mentions on the label that it is Sugar Free and not just diet. There is a blue tribal design at the top. I like the tribal design and it looks like a tribal tattoo. Nothing fancy about the can. It is not bad looking but nothing special. I give it a C for packaging. Red Rain Diet also comes in a large 1 liter plastic bottle but I have yet to get my hands on one.

Slogans:  Seems that the only big slogan the drink has is “Drink Twice Daily”  not much of a slogan but more of a sales pitch. I give them a D for slogan

Taste ect: Well I open the can and pour some in a cup. Smells like Red Bull, Looks like Red Bull. Not a bad RB clone but nothing special. If you like RB then you will like this. I give it a C

Kick/Ingredients: As I said earlier this is not a potent drink. There is always a place for this kind of drink though. Sometimes you don’t want a big boost. Red Rain Diet contains 80mg of Caffeine, 100mg of Taurine, 600mg Glucuronolactone , and a few B vitamins.
Sucralose is the sweetener. It gives me a little boost that’s is on par with you guessed it Red Bull. I’ll give it a C for kick

Web presence:  They have a decent site at redrainenergy.ca  You have a choice of English or French  and once chosen it starts off with a flash intro that plays music you might hear at a club and a girl dancing then fades into the Red Rain Cans. The site is ok and has drink information about ingredients as well as a listing for events, youtube videos of the Red Rain Dancers, some Red Rain wallpapers, and a Red Rain Newsletter. It also has a section for drinks made with Red Rain. The drinks are very lame though and contain no alcohol. Who really wants to make a mixed drink with Red Rain and other non alcoholic bar ingredients?   I’ll give them a B- for the site which is better than average

Recap:

Red Rain Diet is just average all around. It is a much cheaper alternative to Red Bull though and it cost less than 1 US dollar per can in the six packs I bought. If you’re on a budget and like Red Bull I say go for it.
