Ok so I was really excited to finally find this drink. I mean it is from Rockstar and it has 2x caffeine. How could they go wrong? I was a little late in finding this drink so I have read several glowing reviews. Will I like it that much? Let’s see.
Packaging: It comes in a very nice 12 oz slim can. The can is easily identified as a Rockstar drink with the text and logos. I love the black top and the black and yellow go well together. Good job here. Grade A-
Slogans: Best I could come up with is “Party Like A Rockstar” from the Myspace page. Nothing special on this can which is too bad. Grade C+ I like the slogan but it is really not featured on the can or the website.
Taste: So I did not know what to expect. I popped the top and got the typical energy drink smell. Pouring some in a cup it comes out a bright yellow with a heavy carbonation. I take a sip and I get some apple and a lot of candy followed but a crap load of artificial flavoring. The sweet tart candy flavor really lingers for a long while after you finish the drink, I needed something to get the taste out of my mouth. It was vile and dry. On the plus side I can taste no bitterness or caffeine. Glad this was only 12 ounces because I could not choke down any more of it. After the last few new Rockstar drinks(cola and Recovery) I expected better. Grade F
Kick/Ingredients: So after drinking this down quickly it hit me hard and fast. I was full of caffeine jitters and my eyes were wide open. This is some strong stuff and not made for sittin around watching TV or something. I had to get busy. I tried playing some video games but I was too wired for that. I eventually caved in and did some work around the house just to burn off the energy and jitters. I got a solid 3 to 4 hours of energy with only a minor crash. Each 12 oz can is powered by 250 mg caffeine, 1000 mg Taurine, 50 mg Guarana seed extract, 50 mg L-Carnitine, 50 mg Inositol,100 mg of Ginseng, 100 mg L-Arginine , and a good dose of B vitamins. You get this with 15 calories, 1 gram of sugar, and 1 gram of carbs. It is sweetened with sugar, Ace K, and Sucralose. This is a very strong drink. Grade A-
Web presence: Once again I say go to rockstar69.com. I don’t think there is a better energy drink site on the net. They also have a Facebook and a Twitter. Grade A+

So I think if you want a strong drink there are better options out there. Heck drink a Rockstar Zero Carb which is much better tasting and it gives you 240 mg of caffeine. I am going to have to say pass on this drink since it earned the rare grade of F for taste. Really even days later I can't seem to get the bad taste out of my mind.
