We all just wanna be big Rock stars
Rockstar Roasted Mocha
So there was a pretty good buzz when everyone heard Rockstar was coming out with coffee based energy drinks. Java monster has been around quite a while and people wanted to see how it compared. Before Rockstar got theirs out Monster had already introduced 4 new coffee based drinks. I finally got my hands on one of the Roasteds so I could not wait to try it.
Packaging: Comes in a15 oz can? The can is a dark brown with faint diagonal lines. There is a big rockstar gold star logo front and center. It has Rockstar Roasted Coffee & Energy on the front as well. Premium blended mocha cream & Coffee is also noted on the front. Then on both sides vertical is Rockstar roasted Mocha. You can tell this is a coffee based drink for sure. The gold brown and white theme look pretty sharp and classy I think. I will give this can a grade of B as it is definitely better than average.
Slogans: Party like a Rockstar. You can’t go wrong with that slogan ever. I don’t associate coffee with partying but overall it is their slogan and is used a lot by a lot of people so I have to give them a B+
Taste ect: The latest Java Monster drinks were real thick and super creamy with out much coffee flavor so I was expecting something similar. Boy was I wrong. This drink comes out of the can dark brown with a good mocha scent. It more like coffee flavored with milk while the Java Monster drinks were more like milk flavored with coffee. It has a thickness to it but just a little You have the chocolate flavor up front and a noticeable coffee flavor to finish up. I’m going to have to say this gets a B+ for taste. I like this because it is more coffee like than other coffee energy drinks I have tried and it is not overly sweet or creamy.
Kick/Ingredients: So far in my book this is turning out to be the best Coffee energy drink I have tried. What about the kick. Well Rockstar performs well in this category as well. 240mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine as well as the usual guarana 50mg, inositol; ginseng, and L-carnitine . Add your B vitamins and 36 grams of carbs and you got some good energy. There is 2 grams of fat and 200 calories in this drink. The top listed ingredient is brewed espresso coffee! I have to say I good a pretty good boost that powered me well past the morning and into lunch time. I will give this a B for kick. Bigger boost than a regular rockstar.
Web presence: Well it is Rockstar so you know they have a nice website with the big money behind it you expect a top notch site. Rockstar has a site here for their Roasted drinks as well as tons of content on ingredients, sponsorships, models, videos , music ect. On top of that they have site specific to other countries like Rockstar Canada, Rockstar Australia, and Rockstar UK. These are not just mirror site but actually have different content. I have to give them an A for web presence. They pulled out all the stops.
Recap:
Rockstar Roasted Mocha is a drink I could easily drink on a regular basis. It has a great premium coffee/chocolate flavor and a good kick. I can’t wait to try the other 2 flavors. Now if they just get these drinks out there so everyone can try them. I think their initial distribution of these has been a bit slow. This should be a hit for them and you should try this Mocha one for sure.
